Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series! Before we dive in, our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you tell us a bit about your ‘backstory’ and how you grew up?
My childhood was unconventional, surrounded by the vibrant and free-spirited ethos of a hippie household. Summers were a tapestry of ashram visits and sailing adventures. Traditional furniture was eschewed for beanbag chairs, while the basement housed a curious collection of plants. This backdrop of counterculture spurred a personal rebellion that led me towards the sciences, where I sought solace in structure and traditional academia. Embracing natural wellness later in life proved emotionally challenging, as it required dismantling the prejudices of my youth. Yet, in this juxtaposition, I found my calling: to forge a bridge between rigorous science and biotechnological innovation.
Was there a particular person or event that inspired you to live a wellness-focused lifestyle? Can you tell us about your main motivation to go all in?
After earning my MBA from Babson College, I embarked on a career with Young and Rubicam advertising on Madison Avenue, which later led to a strategic planning and directorial role in Moscow. The tumultuous changes in the former Soviet Union, especially the current tragedy in Ukraine and Russia, mark a poignant backdrop to my career evolution. Upon returning stateside, I grappled with reinventing myself, as my skills seemed obsolete in the US context. It was during this period of self-reflection and adaptation that I chanced upon Bill Hagstrom, a biotech entrepreneur whose vision for tapping into Oklahoma’s untapped technological potential resonated with me. Joining forces in 2005 to start Alpha Biopartners, we synergized our expertise — his in biotechnology, mine in strategic planning — to raise significant venture capital and give life to promising technologies, some of which are thriving to this day.
Most people with a wellbeing centered lifestyle have a “go-to” activity, exercise, beverage, or food that is part of their routine. What is yours and can you tell us how it helps you?
My cornerstone belief is in our spiritual existence, cradled within a physical one. Wellness, for me, begins with spiritual attunement, achieved through worship and meditation. This practice is the fulcrum upon which my life balances. Without it, my week teeters into disarray. Prioritizing spirituality anchors everything else — physical health, mental clarity, and emotional resilience — imbuing my daily life with a sense of purpose and harmony.
To live a wellness-focused life is one thing, but how did it become your career? How did it all start?
Initially, my career trajectory veered away from natural wellness towards the tangible realms of pharmaceutical and laboratory diagnostics. However, the serendipity of life, with a touch of divine irony, steered me back to the natural world. In 2010, I found myself collaborating with innovators who were harnessing the healing powers of herbal extracts. Despite my initial skepticism, especially regarding curcumin, which I thought had been exhaustively researched, I was proven wrong. The journey into the realm of natural products was not one I planned, but it has become a defining chapter of my career.
Can you share a story about the biggest challenges you faced when you were first starting? How did you resolve that? What are the main lessons or takeaways from that story?
In my early twenties, I was catapulted into a transformative spiritual journey. It wasn’t just an ephemeral moment but a seismic shift that would redefine my life’s trajectory. I realized the hollow pursuit of personal gain was in stark contrast to the fulfillment found in serving others. It was this ethos that guided me when I encountered the curcumin conjugate technology — a remarkable innovation with the potential to significantly improve lives.
However, the path to bringing this technology to market was fraught with challenges. My initial excitement was tempered by my business partners’ reluctance to produce the product. It required specialized equipment that was not readily available, presenting a daunting barrier to production.
But then, in an almost serendipitous turn of events, the solution came to us. A neighboring business had inherited equipment from a biotech company — precisely what we needed to manufacture our curcumin conjugate. This felt less like coincidence and more like destiny. It was as if the universe itself was conspiring to support our mission. The gentleman who brought this opportunity to us was not just willing but eager to invest in our vision, providing the very means we needed to bring our product to life.
Despite this windfall, tensions with my business partners escalated. Our differing visions for the company’s future created an untenable situation. It was a crucible moment; should I remain in the security of my current role or venture out on my own, guided by a conviction that we had a responsibility to share this groundbreaking technology with the world?
The decision, though fraught with risk, became clear. I chose to step away from the company I helped build to pursue this technology that I believed in so deeply. It was a leap of faith, underscored by the belief that if one door closes, another opens. This decision was vindicated when, shortly after my departure, we discovered a vacant pharmaceutical facility, perfectly suited for our operations, that we could acquire at a fraction of its value.
This journey taught me that faith, coupled with action, can yield miraculous opportunities. The acquisition of the facility was not just a business success; it was a testament to the conviction that there is a purpose to our struggles and that perseverance, underpinned by faith, can lead to extraordinary outcomes. Now as I reflect on those tumultuous times, I see a narrative punctuated by divine intervention and the power of steadfast belief in a vision for healing and wellness.
Can you share with us how the work you are doing is helping to make a bigger impact in the world? Can you share a story that illustrates that?
Our patented technology, Liquid Protein Scaffolding (LPS™) is not just a scientific advancement; it’s a revolutionary step in botanical medicine that is changing lives. This technology, based on the principle that soluble polyphenols bind more readily to proteins than to themselves, allows us to leverage proteins as a vehicle to enhance the bioavailability of potent plant compounds.
The impact of this technology became vividly clear with our first production of curcumin bound to whey protein. Curcumin, the star compound in turmeric known for its anti-inflammatory properties, had always been limited by its low absorption rate when taken in extracted form. Despite its promise, as shown by epidemiological studies linking turmeric consumption to lower disease rates, isolated curcumin failed to replicate those effects — until our LPS™ method transformed its potential.
The validation of our technology came through powerful testimonies from people who experienced its benefits first-hand. For instance, Wade, a retired Special Forces serviceman who tennis elbow had severely restricted his activities, experienced a remarkable turnaround. “I woke up and pushed myself up out of bed,” he marveled. “Not only that, but I grabbed my dumbbells and was able to curl weights. I was even hitting golf balls off my back porch!”
Another poignant endorsement came from a polio survivor in his 60s, plagued with joint issues. After using our product, he approached me with excitement: “What did you give me?” he asked, incredulously. Over a weekend, he had been able to move lumber and fill holes around his yard, activities he hadn’t engaged in for two decades.
These stories underscore the profound personal impact of our LPS technology. UltraCür, our curcumin product, is now more than just a health supplement; it’s a catalyst for improved quality of life. It’s distributed across the United States, Europe, and Central America, lighting the way for a global wellness movement. What started as a spark of innovation has grown into a widespread fire of healing and hope, changing the narrative of wellness one person at a time.
What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now? How do you think that might help people?
Our current projects are as groundbreaking as they are varied, often intersecting with some of the most pressing health challenges of our time. One area where our technology is making waves is in understanding cancer not just as a genetic anomaly, but as a metabolic disease characterized by dysfunctional energy production in cells. Our polyphenol-based compounds, developed using our proprietary LPS technology, are designed to target and modulate these disrupted metabolic pathways.
Over the past four years, we’ve been collaborating with naturopaths and clinical nutritionists to tailor unique blends of these polyphenolic compounds, providing a new arsenal in the fight against different cancer types. The anecdotal evidence has been remarkable and we’re now working closely with the University of Oklahoma to expand our capacity to provide these innovative tools to more healthcare professionals. This could be a game-changer in how we support those battling cancer, offering a complementary approach that aligns with the body’s natural processes.
You are a successful leader. Which three character traits do you think were most instrumental to your success? Can you please share a story or example for each?
The genesis of our company’s guiding principles is a narrative of transformation and clarity that emerged from a particularly challenging time. It began with the hiring of an individual whose presence introduced discord into our workplace. This disruption served as a catalyst for change, a moment that demanded reflection and action, not just from me as a leader but from our entire team.
In the wake of this discord, my team sought structure through a labyrinth of rules. However, it quickly became apparent that what we needed were not rules, but principles — timeless beacons to guide our corporate culture and individual actions. It was from this crucible that our three guiding principles — Wholeness, Peace, and Productivity — were forged.
Wholeness arose from an epiphany that each team member’s well-being was integral to our collective success. I recall a team member struggling to balance work with personal hardships. Witnessing their struggle, it became clear that we had to act not just as colleagues, but as a community. We paused our routine, circled our wagons, and focused on restoring their sense of wholeness. This act of unity and compassion birthed the principle that would become our ethos: prioritizing the holistic well-being of every individual within our company.
Peace was born out of the need to heal and strengthen the team’s interrelations. There was a palpable tension that had to be addressed. We initiated candid conversations, mended strained relationships, and pledged to uphold a culture of direct and respectful communication. Peace became the principle that nurtured an environment where trust flourished and conflict was resolved with dignity.
Productivity, while it may traditionally reign supreme in the business world, was deliberately placed as the third principle. It became a testament to our belief that true productivity stems from a foundation of wholeness and peace. We learned that a workforce rooted in these values in inherently more innovative, dedicated, and efficient. The day we decided to delay a product launch to support a team member dealing with a crisis, we solidified the idea that our company’s achievements are the fruits of a workforce that is cared for and valued.
My role in this was not as the hero who bestowed these principles but as a facilitator who recognized their inherent value. By embodying the traits of foresight, empathy, and resilience, I helped navigate our company through rough waters, always with the vision that these principles would be our lodestar. Today, they stand as the heroes of our story, the silent guardians of our company’s soul, and the vibrant life force that drives our mission forward.
Let’s now shift to the main focus of our interview. Let’s begin with a basic definition of terms so that all of us are on the same page. Wellness is an incredibly broad topic. How would you define the term “Wellness”? Can you explain what you mean?
To articulate what wellness means in the context of our discourse is to delve into a concept both profound and expansive. Wellness, in my understanding, is Wholeness, the harmonious alignment of the spiritual, mental, and physical dimensions of our being. It transcends the mere absence of illness, embodying a proactive journey toward achieving and sustaining an optimal state of health and fulfillment.
This journey is not a solitary pursuit; it is communal, where each individual’s wellness contributes to the collective health of our society. At our company, we see ourselves as artisans of wellness, crafting the tools — be they products, knowledge, or services — that empower our customers to achieve and maintain this delicate balance within themselves and extend it to their community. It’s about creating an ecosystem where wellness is accessible, achievable, and nurtured.
Wellness is a philosophy deeply interwoven into our principles’ fabric. It is the practice al expression of Wholeness, the peace of mind that comes from a supportive network, and the productivity that naturally ensues from a well-nurtured life. It’s about recognizing that true wellness is a multifaceted endeavor, where the body is just one aspect of a larger, more intricate tapestry of health.
As an expert, this might be intuitive to you, but it will be instructive to expressly articulate this. Can you please share a few reasons with our readers about why focusing on our wellness should be a priority in our lives?
The pursuit of wellness often presents as a daunting endeavor because it is frequently misconstrued as a concept solely related to the physical body. However, the essence of wellness is much more comprehensive — it is the integration of the state of our body with our mental fortitude and spiritual alignment.
In our contemporary landscape, rife with the cacophony of daily life, wellness must be intentionally prioritized as it is foundational to our very existence. To neglect wellness is to ignore the very infrastructure of our being. Wellness should not be perceived as a luxury or an afterthought; rather, it should be woven into the very fabric of our daily routines, our decisions, and our interactions.
Embracing wellness in its full spectrum is an acknowledgment of the intricate interplay between our physical health, our emotional resilience, and our spiritual depth. It recognizes that our well-being is a mosaic where each piece is crucial to the whole. A body in peak physical condition, a mind sharpened by challenges and soothed by successes, and a spirit buoyed by a sense of connection and purpose — these are the hallmarks of true wellness.
Wellness, therefore, should not merely be a priority; it should be a paradigm through which we view every aspect of our lives. It is an expansive, inclusive, and holistic approach that acknowledges the full breadth of human experience and potential.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been an increasingly growing understanding of the necessity for companies to be mindful of the wellness of their employees. For the sake of inspiring others, can you share steps or initiatives that companies have taken to help improve or optimize their employees’ mental and physical wellness?
In the wake of the pandemic, the corporate world has been ushered into an era of heightened awareness regarding the wellness of employees. This newfound understanding is not a mere trend but a fundamental shift in how companies perceive and value their workforce. As a response to this paradigm shift, our company has instituted several initiatives to bolster the physical and mental well-being of our team.
One such initiative is our vacation policy, which is predicated on the recognition that rest and rejuvenation are not indulgences but necessities. Upon reaching their first anniversary, each employee is granted 15 days of vacation. This policy is underpinned by the belief that time away from work is critical for mental refreshment and emotional reset. We actively discourage the accumulation of vacation days, as we believe that the deferral of rest is detrimental to wellness. Instead, we advocate for the regular disengagement from work to pursue personal interests and relationships that foster happiness and contentment.
This approach has a twofold benefit. First, it underscores our commitment to the holistic wellness of our employees, validating their needs beyond the workplace. Second, it encourages them to return to work invigorated, often with fresh perspectives and renewed vigor. This not only enhances productivity but also contributes to a culture that values and respects personal time and boundaries.
Beyond the vacation policy, we have undertaken steps to ensure our workplace environment is conducive to wellness. From ergonomic workstations designed to minimize physical strain to mindfulness spaces that provide a sanctuary for mental repose, our commitment to employee wellness is tangible within the very infrastructure of our company.
In fostering this culture of wellness, we recognize that we are not just enhancing the lives of our employees but also setting a precedent for the industry. It is our hope that these initiatives will inspire other companies to view employee wellness not as a discretionary benefit but as a fundamental right.
What are your “5 Things You Need To Create A Highly Successful Career In The Health and Wellness Industry”?
Many find solace in faith, using it as an anchor to secure a life of meaning and purpose. Yet, when confronted with life’s tumultuous seas — when the skies of certainty become overcast with the fog of hardship — their vision often grows dim. In my own life’s voyage, I have come to the profound realization that God, the omniscient architect of the universe, harbors a blueprint for success far surpassing any that I could draft.
In my youth, a deliberate choice was made — a surrender to divine leadership, an earnest plea for God to pilot my journey, so that I might fulfill the divine purposes etched upon my spirit. This surrender, which may seem counterintuitive to some, is truly the inaugural step of a spiritually successful life. Without this yielding, one is but a mariner ignoring the stars for guidance, adrift on self-made currents.
The first principle, therefore, is Surrender: a wholehearted surrender to God’s grand design, whatever it may entail. Our earthly ambitions might nudge us towards one profession, while God might be steering us towards another — be it as a healer, a naturopath, or a scientist. It is not until we relinquish control and invite God to chart our course that our true journey begins.
Following surrender is the principle of Listening: in our prayers and meditations, we open our hearts to hear God’s whispers over the cacophony of life. It is in this sacred dialogue that our souls are tuned to the frequency of gratitude, acknowledging our Creator’s providence and care. Listening shapes our being, transforming us into grateful recipients and custodians of God’s wisdom.
With our ears attuned to the divine, we then embrace Discernment, the third principle. In a world replete with voices clamoring for our attention, discernment is the skill to filter through the noise, to recognize the sound of truth amid the discord. It is the ability to distinguish the divine directive from the cacophony of life’s many advisors.
Courage is the fourth principle and emerges in the face of action. When God presents a path, even one paved with certainty, stepping onto it requires a fortitude that transcends human bravado. It is a divine courage, fueled by faith, that empowers us to step beyond the confines of our comfort and into a life abundant with meaning and service.
Lastly, we uphold Persistence, a steadfastness anchored in the assurance of God’s promises. It is a persistent spirit that recognizes that God’s faithfulness is the bedrock of our endeavors. He who calls us to a great purpose will also sustain and bring our efforts to fruition.
These five principles — Surrender, Listening, Discernment, Courage, and Persistence — form the spiritual compass by which I navigate. They are not just abstract concepts but lived experiences, the undercurrents that guide my life and career in the health and wellness industry. With these principles, we embark on a journey not of self, but of service, crafting a legacy that echoes the heart of God’s intentions for us.
Surrender — The Story of Faith Amidst Financial Precipices
The principle of Surrender is vividly captured in the nascent days of Ultra Botanica LLC, a time marked by the confluence of vision, risk, and a profound reliance on God’s guidance. Convinced of divine support, I took a leap of faith: securing a substantial SBA loan, committing to a multi-year lease for a pharmaceutical facility, and enlisting a seasoned manager to spearhead our sales to physicians.
With sales trickling in from a handful of A4M-affiliated physicians, I donned my analytical cap, calculating the modest number of clients needed for profitability. Emboldened by this, we ventured to an A4M conference, our goal as clear as it was daunting: secure 30 new accounts to anchor Ultra Botanica’s future.
Yet, reality proved humbling. A weekend that I had hoped would be laden with divine favor brought only a handful of accounts — far from the 30 I had believed God would bless us with. That Saturday night, I found myself prostrate, engulfed in tears, lamenting what I saw as my hubris. Had I misheard the divine call? Was the path I was so sure God had set for us, in fact, a product of my own making?
In the aftermath, I returned home, a man fractured by the weight of potential failure and the looming shadow of financial ruin. I let go of the manager we had hired and retreated into a period of introspection and prayer, seeking forgiveness for what I perceived as the audacity of claiming to act as an instrument of God.
For weeks, I was adrift in a sea of self-reproach, barely able to engage with the world around me. It wasn’t until a trusted prayer meeting that clarity pierced my fog of despair. As the meeting commenced, a man named John Macalister stood, his finger pointed at me, delivering a message that felt as though it emanated from the divine: “Adam, the Lord wants you to know that you have not missed My voice. But I will be answering the call My OWN WAY, not YOUR WAY!”
This was Surrender — not as a defeat, but as a relinquishing of my preconceived notions of how God’s plan should unfold. It was a moment that redefined my understanding of faith, a profound lesson that God’s assurances come in His terms and His timing, not ours. The surrender here was not passive but active — a trust in the throes of uncertainty, a faith that persists even when the path ahead is shrouded in mist.
Listening — The Story of the Unforeseen Breakthrough
The tale of Listening unfolded against a backdrop of near-desperation, a time when Ultra Botanica teetered on the edge of financial collapse. Two weeks after my moment of surrender, I was in Germany, far from the storm clouds that loomed over our company back in Oklahoma. It was there that a serendipitous turn of events took place — an article in The Oklahoman sparked a sales frenzy. Calls from my team came in rapid succession; our inventory was being depleted faster than we could have ever anticipated. It was the miracle we had been praying for, a testament to God’s provision and timing.
From 2016 to 2021, our reliance on God’s provision was not merely a spiritual stance; it was a tangible, day-to-day dependence. Each payroll period was a step of faith, a communal petition for divine intervention. The daunting financial cliffs we faced — payroll deadlines, rent, utilities — seemed insurmountable. Yet, we chose to listen with our hearts, to tune into God’s still small voice for guidance.
Miraculously, for five years, through 130 payrolls, our faith was rewarded with timely provision. We experienced only a single delay, a brief setback during the tumult of the Covid crisis. This journey of Listening was not one of passive waiting but of active seeking — being still in God’s presence to discern our next steps and then boldly taking action in faith.
Our story of Listening is a chronicle of God’s faithfulness, of a company that found its way by heeding the divine whispers that guided our decisions and led us through financial tempests to a harbor of provision and stability. It is a narrative that speaks to the power of a prayerful posture and an attentive heart.
Discernment — The Story of Venturing into Cancer Research
The narrative of Discernment in our company’s journey is intimately tied to the year 2018, a pivotal moment when the winds of change were sweeping across the industrial hemp landscape. The Farm Bill was ushering in a new era, and amidst this transformation, our boardroom became a crucible of impassioned discussions about the untapped potential of cannabis in cancer treatment.
One board member, in particular, was vocal about his experiences with Rick Simpson oil, an exhaustive extraction from the cannabis plant, which seemed to be yielding miraculous results for cancer patients. Yet, the outcomes were inconsistent — some found profound healing while others noticed no change. It was clear that if we were to understand and harness this potential, we needed to initiate our own research.
Embarking on cancer research is not a decision taken lightly. The road is fraught with regulatory hurdles, and even if we were to discover a groundbreaking treatment, communicating its benefits was shackled by stringent FDA and FTC regulations. I endorse these regulations wholeheartedly, understanding their role in safeguarding the public against false claims. Yet, these were the constraints we faced — knowing that even a miracle would be muted by the boundaries of what we could legally communicate.
Despite these challenges, we discerned a divine opening to explore cancer research further. In an act of faith and dedication to this new direction, we brought on board Dr. HK Lin, a respected figure in the realm of natural cancer research and the pioneering force behind frankincense studies in the United States. His mission was to unravel the enigma of cannabinoids and cancer.
Our foray into this research bore fruit. We discerned key variables that could craft a product capable of eliciting clinical responses in cancer treatment. The breakthrough came not with fanfare but in the quiet acknowledgment of success, exemplified by a colleague’s friend diagnosed with stage three pancreatic cancer. Alongside chemotherapy, he used our early formulation, resulting in an astonishing reduction of his tumor. The once inoperable mass had receded, detaching itself from vital tissues, allowing for surgical removal — a feat seldom seen in such cases.
Five years on, that man remains cancer-free, a beacon of hope in the grim landscape of pancreatic cancer. And yet, in the face of this potential life-altering discovery, we found ourselves bound by the constraints of regulatory compliance, unable to share our findings as widely as we wished. This was the essence of Discernment: recognizing the potential within our grasp, yet understanding the responsibilities and limitations imposed upon us by a greater commitment to ethical science and communication.
Courage — The Story of Expansion and Unforeseen Endorsement
The narrative of Courage is deeply etched in early 2021, as the shadow of COVID-19 began to recede. In those precarious times, our commitment to aid those in need never wavered, despite facing what seemed like insurmountable challenges. The future was a tapestry of uncertainties, and the direction of our growth was shrouded in mystery. During this time, the federal government’s provision of critical working capital acted as a lifeline, without which our survival would have been in jeopardy.
In these moments of existential questioning, I pondered whether God’s plan for us might involve harnessing the power of radio. Our local success in Oklahoma, buoyed by radio partnerships, had led to a quadrupling of sales and a surge in brand awareness. Our radio show became a conduit for sharing transformative stories, offering solace to the aching hearts of our listeners. To our astonishment, it rose to become the number one talk show on Saturdays in Oklahoma. The overwhelming response made me consider a bold expansion of our radio presence nationwide.
Donning my strategic hat, I identified potential markets, crafted a business plan, and sought the capital to bring our vision to fruition. A successful pilot in Wichita Falls, Texas, further fueled our belief in this growth path. As 2021 unfolded, we began courting investors, among them Joe Tippens — an influential figure in the alternative cancer community known for his survival story and advocacy of fenbendazole.
Months of discussions with Joe culminated in a startling revelation. While we had anticipated investment, Joe instead delivered an unexpected endorsement. He had no plans to invest financially, but after delving into our LPS technology, he declared it superior to the protocols he had been recommending. His conviction in our approach was an unexpected validation of our work, amplifying our reach and impact far beyond any capital investment could.
Joe Tippens’ public persona as a cancer survivor and investor was well-known, but we had only glimpsed the surface of his influence. His public affirmation of our technology was a catalyst that propelled us forward, not through the means we had envisioned but through the powerful advocacy of someone who had walked the harrowing path of cancer and emerged with a story to tell.
This chapter of our journey, marked by Courage, teaches us that growth often comes in forms we least expect. It reminds us to remain open to the myriad ways God may fulfill His plans for us and to embrace the courage to pursue them, even when they lead us into uncharted territories. It’s a testament to the power of faith and fortitude in the face of the unknown, and a story of how sometimes, the most significant investments are not in dollars, but in belief and conviction.
Persistence — The Story of Unveiling Comparative Success
Persistence, the steadfast dedication to a course of action despite difficulty or delay in achieving success, is a principle that has been a compass for our company, particularly in the realm of research. Our persistence was exemplified in the serendipitous interaction with Joe Tippens, which led to a pivotal moment for our curcumin technology.
When Joe inquired about comparative data between our curcumin product and the one he advocated, Theracurmin, we were prepared, thanks to our unwavering commitment to research. Theracurmin, a groundbreaking Japanese technology, improved curcumin’s bioavailability by reducing the particle size to the nano level and preventing aggregation through the use of gum ghatti. It was a commendable approach, and their achievements in the bioavailability of curcumin were well acknowledged in the scientific community.
Our foresight in 2016 to benchmark our LPS technology against such an esteemed competitor reflected our dedication to excellence and thoroughness. The six-month experimental journey was a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication to understanding and improving curcumin bioavailability. The results were enlightening — our technology had not just matched but surpassed the bioavailability of the Japanese technology by a factor of six.
This data was not just a metric of success; it was a vindication of years of perseverance in research and development. At that moment, we realized the significance of our persistence. We had not known that Joe Tippens, with his extensive network and influence in the alternative cancer community, would become a pivotal figure in validating our work.
Yet, our commitment to rigor and comprehensive analysis had serendipitously positioned us to showcase the superiority of our product when the opportunity arose.
Persistence had brought us to this juncture. It was not merely about waiting for results but actively pursuing excellence and being ready when the moment of truth arrived. This narrative is a testament to the power of steadfast dedication in the face of uncertainty and the profound impact of being prepared for unforeseen opportunities. It reinforces the belief that persistence, coupled with faith and rigorous science, can lead to extraordinary outcomes and open doors we never anticipated.
Epigenetics — The Revelation of Metabolic Pathways in Cancer
As the possibility of an endorsement from Joe Tippens loomed closer, we delved deeper into the essence of cancer, standing at the frontier of a paradigm shift in its academic understanding. This shift moved away from the long-held belief that cancer is primarily a disease of genetic defects, evolving instead toward recognizing it as a disorder of metabolic derangements within cells.
To comprehend our position at the forefront of this shift, one must acknowledge the emerging paradigm influenced by the seminal work of Otto Warburg and, more recently, by Dr. Siegfried of Boston University. These insights resurrect an old yet revolutionary perspective: cancer cells are characterized by dysfunctional metabolic pathways that lead to the expression of genetic abnormalities, not the other way around.
Travis Christofferson, in his book “Tripping Over the Truth,” articulates this revelation through a pivotal experiment by Dr. Siegfried. The experiment involved swapping the nuclei of cancerous and healthy cells. According to the prevailing belief that cancer is driven by genetic defects, a cancerous nucleus should turn a healthy cell malignant. However, the results defied this notion: a cancerous nucleus did not affect a healthy cytoplasm, while a healthy nucleus could not reverse the cancerous state of a diseased cytoplasm. This suggests that the cancer phenotype is maintained by epigenetic factors and a miscommunication between the mitochondria, cytoplasm, and nucleus, resulting in a cascade of disrupted cellular pathways.
This new paradigm suggests that by targeting and modulating these errant metabolic pathways, we can weaken cancer cells. Using bioactive plant compounds that directly impact these pathways may enhance standard oncological care, leading to significantly improved patient outcomes.
The journey of fenbendazole, an anti-parasitic compound, in cancer treatment is nothing short of miraculous, and I would urge the curious to explore Joe Tippens’ narrative on his website for a firsthand account of his experience and the regimen that worked for him.
When Joe signaled his intent to recommend our products, we committed ourselves to understanding cancer’s metabolic nature. Our research indicated that bioactive plant compounds are particularly potent in influencing these deranged metabolic pathways. Astonishingly, we discovered that the most impactful class of compounds were polyphenols, known for their poor absorption and thus ideal candidates for our LPS technology.
Now, we have developed four distinct pathway products, each a unique combination of plant bio actives designed to synergistically target multiple cancer pathways. This is yet another affirmation of our alignment with God’s guidance, as we’ve harnessed the inherent power of nature to combat one of humanity’s most formidable foes. Our journey continues, a testament to the intricate design of creation and the potential for science and faith to converge in the healing of the world.
If you could start a movement that would promote the most wellness to the greatest amount of people, what would that be?
In the vision for an **Integrated Wellness** movement, the principles of Wholeness, Peace, and Productivity are not mere aspirations but foundational pillars that define our collective journey towards universal well-being.
**Wholeness** is reimagined as a collective endeavor, an understanding that the wellness of individuals is deeply interwoven with the health of the entire community. This movement champions a holistic approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of all aspects of health — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. It posits that true wellness can only be achieved when every member of our community thrives. The concept of Wholeness is expanded to embrace the reality that if any part of our community is lacking in health or well-being, we all suffer. Our mission is clear: to ensure that wellness resources are equitable and accessible to all, acknowledging that our collective health is diminished by the neglect of any single individual.
**Peace** within this integrated approach becomes a vital component of wellness. It’s the pursuit of inner serenity and harmony within our communities, fostering environments where mental and emotional well-being is nurtured. This principle advocates for practices and spaces that promote mindfulness, stress reduction, and the resolution of conflicts. By embedding Peace in the fabric of our wellness movement, we aim to create a society where mental health is prioritized, and the societal conditions that contribute to stress and discord are addressed and alleviated.
**Productivity**, redefined within the context of this movement, transcends traditional economic metrics to encompass the full and joyous engagement with life. It’s about enabling individuals to live purposefully, with activities that enrich body, mind, and spirit. This principle promotes a culture where staying active, pursuing passions, and engaging in continuous learning are seen as integral to a productive life. By valuing these broader definitions of Productivity, we support a vision of wellness that includes achieving one’s potential and contributing to the well-being of the community.
Integrating these principles, the **Integrated Wellness** movement is a clarion call to action for a holistic and inclusive approach to health. It’s a movement that seeks to dismantle the barriers to health equity, ensuring that wellness is not a privilege but a shared right. Our collective endeavor is to build a world where Wholeness, Peace, and Productivity are the hallmarks of every community, recognizing that the well-being of everyone contributes to the collective health of humanity. This movement is a commitment to a world where no one is left behind, where everyone can thrive, and where our collective wellness is the measure of our success.
Is there a person in the world, or in the US with whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch, and why? He or she might just see this if we tag them.
If I could choose any individual for a private meal, it would be with Dr. Andrew Weil, a venerated pioneer in the field of Integrative Medicine. His profound influence on the integration of holistic health practices into conventional medicine is deeply inspiring. Dr. Weil’s work aligns seamlessly with the core values of Wholeness, Peace, and Productivity that underpin the Empowering Personal Health Ownership movement.
The reason for this choice is multifaceted. Dr. Weil has not only brought credibility to the role of natural and preventive medicine in maintaining health and treating disease but also has significantly impacted the evolving field of Integrative Oncology. His understanding of how lifestyle, emotional, and environmental factors can influence our health and recovery from illness would provide invaluable insights into the movement’s mission.
A conversation with Dr. Weil would offer a chance to explore how the principles of Integrative Oncology can be woven into the broader tapestry of health and wellness, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to achieve optimal health. This interaction could also foster a collaboration that might elevate the movement’s reach, helping to disseminate its message more widely and effectively.
Tagging Dr. Weil in our dialogue could potentially bring his attention to the movement’s goals and the possibility of joining forces to enhance wellness education and advocate for the inclusion of holistic practices in healthcare systems globally. It’s an opportunity to bridge the gap between alternative and traditional medicine, creating a unified approach to health and well-being.
