Author Citra Tenore On How To Create Compelling Science Fiction and Fantasy Stories
…I’m very particular and detail-oriented, and I know readers are too, if not more. It can be satisfying to close a book or look back on an entire series and realize that every sequence of dialogue, character interaction, and conflict was relevant to the ending. To know that everything you read was necessary the whole way through can be incredibly fulfilling when you’re done, especially with long novels.
As part of my interview series, I had the pleasure of interviewing Citra Tenore. Born in 2002, Citra Tenore (her name is pronounced like “cheetra tenorae”) is an American fiction author from Massachusetts. She published her first novel, a standalone children’s story called Summer with a Twist, when she was twelve years old. After being bitten by the writing bug for good, she dedicated her teen years to her new mystery and metaphysical series, The Dead Planets’ Requiem; the series’ first volume published when she was nineteen.
