Authority Magazine Snapshots: With Natali Yura of “Reprisal”
Natali is a Russian-born breakout actress and recording artist, who recently wrapped filming for feature action film REPRISAL alongside co-stars Bruce Willis and Olivia Culpo in Cincinnati this fall.
The film follows James (Willis), a veteran, and his partner as they track down criminals to make enough money for his son’s medical bills. Natali plays Maribel, an armored truck guard who meets James along the way.
Natali emerged in 2013 with her Billboard dance chart top 10 hit single ‘Scream for Love,’ and ever since, has been hard at work cementing her reputation as a talented and motivated artist.
Before immersing herself in the entertainment industry, Natali graduated with a degree in business and was networking in New York City. She attended a casting call to support a friend, where she was noticed by legendary producer Martin Bregman. Bregman insisted she begin courses at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute — and the rest is history.
Her first film appearance was in 2017’s DEAD TRIGGER, an adaptation of the hit video game, starring Dolph Lundgren, and she also secured a feature role in the upcoming film, TREASURE HUNTER: LEGEND OF THE WHITE WITCH, directed by Ken Barbet, alongside costar Randy Couture. Natali added a dramatic role to her repertoire with an upcoming Russian film from Yuri Grymov based on Tchekov’s iconic play THREE SISTERS, where Natali plays the antagonist, Natasha, alongside an all-star cast.”
Can You Share Your Funniest On Set Story?
While Natali was getting into character as an armored truck driver in REPRISAL, she approached a few local Cincinnati beat cops to get some background, asking them questions about their techniques and frame of mind while on the job.
Natali carried on the conversation for several minutes before she began to get the impression that the cops had turned the tables, and started interviewing her.
Turns out, Natali forgot she was in full makeup from a day of filming — complete with a black eye! — raising the suspicions of the officers who wanted to make sure the injured-looking actress wasn’t in danger.
