Don’t be afraid to take mental health days. They are just as important as the days you are working harder than anyone else. Pace yourself. Don’t be too hard on yourself, but also be your toughest critic. Always strive to be better than you were the day before.

I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Bria Lee.

Singer-songwriter and pianist Bria Lee was born in Providence, Rhode Island and moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue her lifelong dream of being an artist. Her music fuses the sultriness of soulful singer-songwriters like Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys with a splash of pop. It’s a smooth topline set over a grimy 808 thump with touches of jazz and organic instrument for added flair. Bria’s vocals ooze a woozy soulfulness that manages to conjure the smoky expressiveness of a jazz and pop vocalist and the confidence and swagger of a poet. Bria has issued a vibey debut EP, Little Room, featuring Fat Joe, Pitbull and Chris Webby which showcases her elegantly eclectic artistic vision
