I think most good family law attorneys discourage child custody disputes wherever possible and take all steps reasonably available to find a middle ground and reach a custody agreement that both parties can live with, that is in the best interests of their children. That is not always possible. However, parties embroiled in a present dispute do not always realize that the damage from this dispute is likely to adversely affect their family for years to come.
