Creative marketing has been emerging in the business world as a means of increasing brand awareness. Consumers tend to be drawn to, and pay more attention to a certain company, brand, or organization when the marketing is done in a fresh, unique approach. More and more companies are letting creative professionals take part in marketing strategies to help promote and produce products to company audiences.

Each ribbon ties to a charitable cause

Kelly Parker, founder of online gift bag company Send Ribbon, encourages consumers to reduce waste from traditional wrapping paper, tissue, and ribbons, and opt for the company’s reusable canvas gift bags and ribbons. “Each ribbon ties to a charitable cause. Many corporate clients are on board to use our gift bags instead of traditional gift box companies that get thrown away.”

Re-imagine their own brand experience

Matrixx Software founder and VP of marketing Jennifer Kyriakakis takes a very organized approach on how to market to her customers for her “traditionally boring” company. To integrate creativity into her marketing, Kyriakakis says, “You have to help your clients reimagine their own brand experience.” In other words, Kyriakakis uses creative marketing to help her customers see how her solution can improve their end-goals.

Socks on social medias

Sock Club, a monthly sock-subscription service, has partnered with multiple different organizations and companies as a means for creative marketing. One of their more successful campaigns was working with the New Hampshire Public Radio. Every listener who donated money to the station was gifted with a mug and a pair of socks. Those who were gifted immediately started posting pictures of the socks on their social medias — free creative marketing. The vice president of marketing at World Wildlife Fund, David Glass, took note of all the themed socks he would see people wearing. The World Wildlife Fund designed sets of socks with pandas, sloths, and giraffes as gifts in exchange for donations. Glass said, “The socks quickly became the most requested thank-you item before the holidays.”

Recruited 12 Olympians

Jonathan Yagel’s business of creating wellness apps has gone in many different directions as far as creative marketing. For the 2012 Summer Olympics, Yagel recruited 12 Olympians to share their accomplishments throughout the games. Yagel said “We ended up having two ‘I just won a Gold Medal!’ posts, on the platform! So we also partnered with an amazing non-profit called DonorsChoose.org, and allowed our Olympians to make contributions to teachers / classrooms around the country.”

There truly is no limit to what the right creative marketing strategy can do for a company’s exposure, as well as brand loyalty. It’s something that is always worth exploring and is an extremely valuable tool in building consumer relationships.
