Don’t wait. You don’t need to know everything about running a business to get started. Start small, learn, build, and grow. That is far more important than having a perfect roadmap for the next 5–10 years. Of course, you need a plan and you need to prepare. However, I have seen so many smart and skilled individuals have a wonderful idea, but just never been able to get it off the ground. Something always seems to be wrong or standing in their way.

Derek is the Founder & Editor-in-Chief of ModernCastle.com and the original owner and Founder of Sleepopolis. He has been testing consumer products since 2014.
