Divorce Coach Meghan Kelly says, you are never tool old to make a new friend….even if you are going through a divorce.
“So no one told you life was gonna be this way. Your job’s a joke, you’re broke, your love life’s DOA.” Do these lyrics from the theme song from “Friends” describe what you are experiencing during and after a divorce? Don’t you wish you had a group of close pals like those six characters did — people you could always rely on, have plans with and understood the challenges and issues you face? In a divorce, single parents fly solo in all areas such as attending family functions, going to the PTA meeting, the school show and their kids weekend soccer/baseball games. When a divorced parent’s children are with their “ex,” they try to schedule a night out but that can come with obstacles. If their friends are married, Saturday evenings are mainly reserved for “couples dinners.” Many people complain about being exhausted after a long workweek so there goes Friday and Sunday, everyone is prepping for the new week so that night is a washout.
