Dr Amir Karam Of KaramMD: 5 Things You Need To Create A Successful Career As A Plastic Surgeon
An Interview With Jake Frankel
--
Communication — There are not many fields in medicine that require as much emphasis on communication with a patient and your team as in plastic surgery. Being a strong communicator is so important because you’re dealing with patients directly who are coming to you with high expectations of what you can do for them. To be able to communicate your thoughts and level set expectations clearly, ensures you gain the confidence of your patients and for me, trust your face in my hands. You also have to be able to communicate your patient’s desires and goals to ensure their expectations are met.
As part of my series about healthcare leaders, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Dr. Amir Karam.
