Physician education has a high academic bar for entry, which is appropriate and should not be changed. However, the cost of medical education is burdensome. To address the shortage of primary care physicians, there should be deep financial incentives to enter primary care.

As a part of our interview series called “5 Things We Must Do To Improve the US Healthcare System”, I had the pleasure to interview Dr. Carmen Kavali.
