Be Your Own Best Friend. When I was a mother and homemaker with four young children, I remember feeling isolated from others as I went about my daily chores. Sometimes I felt all alone. For example, on a snowy winter morning filled with challenges, I went to a post office to mail a large package after I dropped my three older children off at school. While I held a heavy toddler and the box for thirty minutes, my arms began to ache.
