Perseverance and Resilience: In all aspects of life, this concept applies. However, as an immigrant to a new country it perhaps applies even more. I firmly believe that we need to embrace our failures and use them as steppingstones toward our success. Failure is not a negative word, but should be viewed positively. Failure shapes who we become, makes us more resilient, and provides us the opportunity to develop perseverance.
Is the American Dream still alive? If you speak to many of the immigrants we spoke to, who came to this country with nothing but grit, resilience, and a dream, they will tell you that it certainly is still alive.
