Dr. Rachel Wellner On 5 Things You Need to Know to Become a Great Author
Practice writing and never stop.
…Ensure that there is always an antagonist or a challenge that the protagonist(s) must overcome (This may seem obvious, but without an antagonist, there is no story. Tension or a challenge that the heroes must overcome is a necessary part of any story. In the Doctoroo series, we have a team of heroes conquering the ‘antagonist’ of disease.)
As part of my interview series on the five things you need to know to become a great author, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr. Rachel Wellner.
Alongside being the author of Doctoroo, a children’s health education series, Dr. Rachel Wellner is a Board-Certified general surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Wellner specializes in breast oncology with training from the Society of Surgical Oncology. Her expertise and children’s series have been featured in top-tier publications, including CNN, KTLA, and Fox and Friends.
