Make your voice heard. Vote. The biggest problem affecting our ability to have a truly equitable society is indifference. Right now, I sense a willingness to step forward and fight indifference. We must carry that forward. We must vote, and we must take swift action to ensure voting rights are not jeopardized for others. What happened in Georgia’s primary elections earlier this year — when scores of voting machines went missing or malfunctioned, leading to hours-long lines — is completely unacceptable. The fact that these situations often occur in areas where Black voters predominate is no accident.
