… You are enough just the way you are. It’s easy to feel insecure as an actor, or even just as a human. But when you think about the people you most admire in life it’s usually because they are so unapologetically themselves warts and all. You love them for all their quirks and oddities as well as their fabulousness. As Oscar Wilde said: ‘Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.’

As a part of our series about Inspirational Women In Hollywood, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Helen Thomson. Helen is best known for her role as Gladys Presley in Baz Luhmann’s feature film ELVIS. Her other credits include Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake China Girl, Fires and Rake Series 5 as Prime Minister Angela Sway. Her main stage theatre credits are extensive in her native Australia. Her roles for the Sydney Theatre Company include Elizabeth 1 in Mary Stuart, the title role in Bernard Shaw’s Mrs. Warrens Profession, and Linda Loman in Death of a Salesman.
