I had the pleasure of interviewing Charles Smith.

After his decade-long acclaimed playing days with the NBA, Charles Smith,
MBA has positioned himself at the intersection of Sports, Business, Events
and Technology. Relative to the NBA, itself, Smith produced and executed
exhibition games featuring over 40 retired NBA players against local teams
throughout Asia and South America. He subsequently curated intimate deals on three continents across nearly a dozen countries including the U.S., China,
Hong Kong, Argentina, Australia, Qatar, Colombia, Barbados, Taiwan,
Indonesia and Macau.


Smith also first engaged with the National Basketball Players Association
(NBPA) as Team Representative and then as First Vice President, a position
specifically created for him by the NBPA in 1992. There, he launched the
NBPA Foundation, a non-profit to create meaningful change through the
support of both charitable organizations and retired players in need.


Now as Chairman of the Pro Basketball Alumni Association, Smith speaks to
professional leaders on topics including industry growth and
