Female Disruptors: Attorney Leah Wise On The Three Things You Need To Shake Up Your Industry

My passion is helping women and girls overcome barriers and achieve success. The movement I’m most passionate about right now is Period Poverty. Many people don’t know that school age girls around the entire world cannot afford feminine hygiene products. This is tragic because it prevents them from going to school and receiving an education while menstruating. I live in an underserved area of the United States, and many school nurses I’ve spoken with have told me how heavily young girls depend on their school to provide pads and tampons. During winter break, my office raised funds and collected feminine hygiene products for middle school and high school girls to take home with them over winter break when they don’t have easy access to pads and tampons.
