When we go through the breakup of a meaningful relationship, the feeling of failure, the loss of our old identity, the sense of loneliness and other crossed emotions inevitably will put us into depression. There are many things that will help us overcome such a state. We need to find a way to release the happy chemicals again (dopamine, endorphins, oxytocin and serotonin). Many people try to cope with depression and release these chemicals with negative behaviors such as impulsive shopping, drinking, doing drugs (recreational and prescribed), casual dating and others.
