Growth is an essential part of life, both personally and professionally. Every day presents an opportunity to learn, evolve, and become better versions of ourselves. But how do we seize these opportunities? How do successful writers, leaders, and influencers ensure they are constantly growing and improving? What daily habits, practices, or mindsets contribute to their continual growth? In this interview series, we are talking to authors, leaders, influencers, and anyone who is an authority about “What We Can Do To Grow Every Day”. As a part of this series, I had the pleasure of interviewing Ty Grant.

Ty Grant is a social media influencer with over 1 million followers on TikTok and Instagram, known for her comedic and relatable POV skits. Her content focuses on humor, impersonations, and everyday situations, making her a favorite among Gen Z audiences.

Thank you so much for your time! I know that you are a very busy person. Our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you tell us your “Origin Story”? Can you tell us the story of how you grew up?

I Grew up an introverted class clown who became a real. I was athletic but during high school I tried acting and became a “theater kid”.

Can you tell us a bit about what you do professionally, and what brought you to this specific career path?

We all have our own story. For me, I’ll take chances to touch a few souls.

What brought you: My passion for helping people lead me down this path with online comedy. Laughter is medicine, it’s an easy way to help someone who may need it without knowing them. I hope when people in need view my page, I heal their inner child one reel at a time.

Thank you for all that. Let’s now turn to the main focus of our discussion about Personal Growth. To make sure that we are all on the same page, let’s begin with a simple definition. What does “Personal Growth” mean to you?

Personal growth to me means being more aware of and with yourself. It means being able to identify what’s going on with you in an efficient manner.

Why do you believe that it’s important to commit to growing every day?

Committing to your personal growth allows you to build your higher self. By that I mean, a better version of me, a more healed version. For me, the commitment is to her.

What are the key upsides for those who mindfully engage in a journey of personal evolution?

The main upside is that experience is the best teacher. If someone has the wisdom of self growth they may be able to inspire others or more. Specifically in black culture, another benefit is being able to break generational curses. The power to change future life lines is a huge positive and shouldn’t be overlooked.

When we stop evolving in intentional ways, what do you think are the biggest downsides?

You can only go as far as your personal health. To stop evolving blows your chances of breaking those generational curses lessons. You’ll remain Stagnant.

What specific practices, if any, do you have in place to ensure that you don’t become stagnant in life?

“In order to stay grounded in my growth, I love to praise myself for all the small accomplishments I’ve overcome, always remember my ‘why’, and give back to myself by working out, meditating, hiking, and doing extracurricular activities like boxing, drumming etc.”

Is there any particular area of your life where you are most committed to growth (e.g., spiritually, professionally, socially, internally, relationally)?

The most important few to me are professionally with finances, as well as spiritually and internally increasing discernment and alignment with the things I want.

Here is the primary question of our discussion. If you could offer five tips to readers on how to stimulate and perpetuate self-growth, what would they be? If you can, please share a story or an example for each.

1 . Give yourself grace

2 . Be open to unlearn old habits

3 . Ask yourself great questions

4 . Stay in the present

5 . Learn to master you own needs without seeking solutions in others

What advice would you give to someone who feels stuck and unsure of how to start their personal growth journey?

Do it even while unsure! You’ll never know unless you try. Life is trial and error. If you’re stuck, ask for help, look for help. Ask for guidance, look for guidance. Take it back to asking yourself questions.

Are there any books, podcasts, or other resources that have significantly contributed to your personal growth?

Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert Kiyosaki

Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself — Dr. Joe Dispenza

It Didn’t Start with You — Mark Wolynn

You are a person of great influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. :-)

A movement towards being comfortable in our own skin, we are confined in the way that society thinks. If we all decide at once to change that, maybe we can experience true freedom.

How can our readers further follow your work online?

Follow my pages, support my endeavors. Come laugh with me, @334baby on Instagram.

Thank you so much for sharing these important insights. We wish you continued success and good health!
