In fact, connecting with others in a loving way changes our body’s chemistry, including giving us a boost of oxytocin (“the happy hormone”). Even during the most tumultuous of times, it is necessary for us to connect with others (animals are okay, too) in order to stay positive and happy since connection is foundational to resilience.
