Happy Days Are Here Again for Anson Williams; The Actor Shares This Heartfelt Story How He Found Love After Cancer & A Divorce

You know the song. “Sunday, Monday, Happy Days. Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days.” But for Anson Williams, one of the stars of this beloved sitcom, there was a brief period of time when there were no “Happy Days.” In 2016, Anson who played Potsie Weber was diagnosed with stage two colon cancer. Then in 2019, although Anson was already separated, he decided to officially file for a divorce and end his 31-year marriage. Both these life altering events according to Anson left him feeling heart-broken and numb. The actor/director recalls, “I was like a hermit who never left home.” Later that same year, Anson was on his computer and saw a woman’s name, he recognized pop up in his inbox. Her name was Sharon MaHarry. She was a realtor who sold Anson his California home. Although the contents of message was about properties in the area and Anson was one of dozens on the correspondence, he figured, “what the heck, even though it’s been 13-years, I am going to reach out.” So, Anson texted the number on the bottom of the message to say hello and see if Sharon wanted to grab lunch.
