Representation, awareness and action are some of the positive effects that diversity in entertainment has on our culture. Representation in media and communications are important because it gives the opportunity for marginalized voices to contribute to pop culture. Diversity in entertainment also brings public awareness to projects, talent and initiatives that people may not have heard of otherwise. I learned that seeing and hearing diverse voices is the best way to encourage action on important issues.
