If people aren’t following you, you’re not leading. And if you’re leading with a stick, you may temporarily get them to follow you by fear, but you will never get them to be loyal to you in the long run.

As a part of my series about strong female leaders, I had the pleasure of interviewing Madeline Haydon.

Madeline Haydon is the Founder & CEO of nutpods, the best-selling non-dairy creamer brand. She is also an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Madeline developed nutpods based on a personal need: a rich and creamy, dairy-free coffee creamer without artificial ingredients or sweeteners. nutpods has since grown to the #3 brand in the exploding plant-based, non-dairy creamer category by cultivating and leveraging a passionate consumer following. Initially launched as a Kickstarter project, nutpods is now the #1 selling brand on Amazon and one of the fastest growing brands of refrigerated plant-based creamers in national retailers. Its success is driven in part by Madeline’s unconventional route to market: starting with direct to consumers prior to expanding into traditional grocery.
