As we continue to move away from the office, we’ll have to find other places to be social. Most people used to meet their friends and spouses at the office; as working from home increases society will have to shift back to other ways of community-building — around shared interests, with neighbors, through church or volunteer work. In addition, most human work will become more creative, and less about repetitive tasks. We will all need the space to breathe and refresh.

There have been major disruptions in recent years that promise to change the very nature of work. From the ongoing shifts caused by the COVID19 pandemic, the impacts caused by automation, and other possible disruptions to the status quo, many wonder what the future holds in terms of employment. For example, a report by the McKinsey Global Institute that estimated automation will eliminate 73 million jobs by 2030.
