I believe that automation of the check-out process in large retailers will be the norm, especially with the rise of RFID technology. Decathlon, the sports retailer with 1600 stores across 50 countries has been a pioneer in this space. They tag almost 85% of items in their store with RFIDs and their checkout process is entirely self-service.

The pandemic has allowed people to reevaluate what they want from work. This “Great Reevaluation” has led to the “Great Resignation” which has left the US with a great big labor shortage and a supply chain crisis. What can we do to reverse this trend?
