Preparing For The Future Of Work: Dr. Allessandria Polizzi On The Top Five Trends To Watch In The Future Of Work
An Interview with Phil La Duke
Gig Economy — The gig economy continues to grow and fractional staffing is an evolving reality. If I shake my magic 8 ball, I see a future where we cobble together project-based work or fractional scrum teams. The “Uber for ‘fill in the blank”” (hotels, workspaces, customer service, daycare, you name it) is a positioning that questions the boundaries of what we mean by work and how we define company culture. As we blow up the antiquated industrial-based mindset of work = place, we open up a lot of room for innovation. I personally feel this is a little too nomadic and disconnected, but it also means a world of possibility in right-sizing teams based on current needs, enabling flexibility for both employee and employer alike.
