Of all the roles Willie Garson played, the one he was most proud of and loved starring in was, “DAD.”

On Tuesday, September 21st, our hearts started breaking and tears rolled down our cheeks when we learned the devastating news, actor Willie Garson had passed away at the age of 57. Not only was Garson highly respected in the entertainment industry by his peers, but thanks to social media, many of his co-stars and friends shared tid-bits of unknown information about Garson such as, he was a guest at Elton John’s wedding and Garson was deemed the Mayor of Hollywood because he knew and worked with everyone. For fans of the HBO series, “Sex and the City,” seeing recent photos of Garson on the set of TV reboot alongside BFF Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) was so exciting because everyone loved his character Stanford Blatch, not to mention Stanford’s colorful and unforgettable outfits. When I spoke to Garson back in October of 2020 for his “You Gotta Believe Campaign,” it didn’t matter what A-list name I dropped when I asked him to describe what it was like starring alongside them on the big screen or the small screen. Nothing made Garson gush, brag, boast or ramble on more than when I brought up his son Nathen, whom he adopted back in 2009. As we all absorb the shock of losing Garson to pancreatic cancer, I want to honor this great man and father by re-posting our original interview.

Depending on what you like to watch on TV: drama, comedy, crime or mystery, if I mention the name Willie Garson
