You can’t live in a world that tells you “you don’t exist” or “you had no contribution” and still fly. You need a representation of your possibilities in order to dream and conquer. Seeing yourself allows you and the next generation to have goals of possibilities. It changes everything and changes the narrative of your existence.

I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Alysia Joy Powell. Alysia Joy Powell, currently starring in Judas and the Black Messiah, is a native of Southern California that, currently, resides in Brooklyn. Born of two parents who met in an acting class, however starting her entertainment career late in her 20’s with Gospel music. First as an artist, singing with the likes of Richard Smallwood, Yolanda Adams and GMWA and singing backup for Artists like Mary J. Blige, before managing artists.

She then realized her childhood dream of acting, having a 25 year career In Film, TV, and Stage with recent credits
