It’s extremely important to have diversity in the entertainment industry because we live in America which is diversified. When people in America are watching film and television, they want to be able to relate to what and who they are watching. They want to feel comfortable, included and represented. This country is a melting pot, it was built from immigrants. Everyone should be able to tell their own unique story.

It’s also important HOW we portray minorities, immigrants, women and people of color. People have adopted negative perceptions from the characters they see. I definitely think we need to focus on portraying more positive characters.
