Rising Star Kris McQuaid: Directors look for people who are comfortable with themselves

After a recent meeting with a Casting Director, I have discovered that Disney is looking for the kids who are comfortable with themselves. This couldn’t ring to be truer to adults as well. Growing up I was always trying to find a way to be friends with everyone. I never realized that I was enough. I never realized that I could just be myself. I spent my teenage years and most of my twenties trying to fit in. Trying to make myself feel better by being friends with everyone instead of just being myself, and most importantly I spent much of my younger career trying to please the person behind the desk.
