Never stop preparing yourself as a professional and have patience because it takes time and effort. Believe in yourself and be ready to pounce when the opportunity comes :)

As a part of my interview series with popular culture stars, I had the pleasure of interviewing Wendy Regalado. Wendy Regalado is a professional actress, TV host/presenter, and model. She has been working for many years as an actress on different platforms including TV, theater and films. Wendy has also done some work as a model and as an actress in commercials for various media platforms, including print, and music videos with artists such as DJ Khaled. She is currently doing some work as a social media influencer for events and brands. Wendy is best known for her work as “Lucia” on the Nickelodeon TV series Grachi. She has also worked on several soap operas (telenovelas) for the Hispanic market on Telemundo and Univision. Wendy has also worked on several films and recently starred in Jenni a short film which has been critically acclaimed and garnered several nominations and awards in film festivals around the world.

Thank you so much for joining us Wendy! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Since I was a child I have always wanted to be an actress. I was always watching actresses and TV show presenters and trying to imitate them. Throughout that time, my mother and grandmother would encourage me to participate in plays at church; this was my start to working as an actress. The first time I had a script in my hands I had no idea how I was going to learn all of my lines, but I was so happy. The show was successful and I enjoyed every moment on stage. From then on my life became a pursuit of being on that stage. I studied Broadcasting Journalism at the university thinking it would be a good path to getting on a stage, in front of cameras as a TV presenter, but the theater was my first love. After graduating I had the opportunity to live a dream as I was able to act on my country’s biggest stage, in its most prominent theater. Little did I know…
