Social Impact Heroes: Why & How Jennifer Eccles of The Giant Magellan Telescope is Helping to Change Our World

I view leadership as a great responsibility as many leadership decisions can change the course of an organization. Throughout my career, I have developed a focused management philosophy that guides my approach centered on teamwork, empowering staff, soliciting input, and emphasizing accountability. I’m fortunate in my role because everyone on my team plays a large part in advancing the Giant Magellan Telescope forward. We are in a critical phase of the project, raising funds to complete the telescope’s construction. That’s why I view leadership as a great responsibility. It comes with a need to communicate the vision and goals of the project while also balancing buy-in, decision-making, and delegation.
