There have been times when I’ve felt such shame. I have a learning disability, and I used to see it as an impediment to my success like I’m not smart enough. When I found out I had learning disabilities, I felt like I was so different from everyone else. I felt defective somehow. But then I realized I could turn my disability into something positive. I could use it to my advantage. I knew that I saw the world; differently, I was creative and had a great sense of humor. So I focused on those strengths instead of focusing on my weaknesses.
