Loneliness Hurts Us More Than We Thought. While we celebrate independence and self-sufficiency in American culture, we also learned during the COVID-19 pandemic that biological isolation and loneliness have a massive impact on our mental health and wellness, especially for our youth. According to new Harvard research, 61% percent of the 950 respondents in a national survey reported feeling high levels of loneliness were between 18–25 years old. I am sure many people assumed young people would feel the least lonely during this time because of their social media and technological proficiency.
