Visit your future self often to strengthen the psychic bond between the present and future. The more time you spend with someone, the more you know them. Just like you can get inside the head of your very closest friend and anticipate their every thought and move, you can do this with your future self. You’ll start to change. You’ll begin to believe.

Starting something new is scary. Learning to believe in yourself can be a critical precursor to starting a new initiative. Why is it so important to learn to believe in yourself? How can someone work on gaining these skills? In this interview series, we are talking to business leaders, authors, writers, coaches, medical professionals, teachers, to share empowering insights about “How To Learn To Believe In Yourself.” As a part of this series, we had the pleasure of interviewing Tana Newberry.

Tana Newberry is a successful International Psychic with nearly two decades of experience conducting more than 10,000 paid psychic reading sessions for clients across the globe. She specializes in both future predictions and psychic development, as well as mentors divinely-driven psychics to book more clients and build a six-figure business with her “Money-Making Method for Psychic Readers.”

Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series! Before we dive into the main focus of our interview, our readers would love to “get to know you” a bit better. Can you tell us a bit about your childhood backstory?

Sure! That’s a great place to start. Although, it may be the only part of this interview that sounds pretty normal, lol. Here it goes.

I’ll say that I am a daughter, an older sister to two brothers and that I very much enjoyed a happy childhood. My parents are still together and literally bathing elephants in a river while vacationing in Thailand as I write this article.

My family and home life have always been positive, which I am deeply grateful for.

I associate my elementary school years with creativity and play, my middle school years with self-discovery, and my high school years with strength in character and hard work toward the person I wanted to become. I was a cheerleader, a class president, and a yearbook editor. I even wrote the horoscopes for the school newspaper. By high school, I enjoyed friendships with people in every crowd. I was the nice girl. However, still a bit naive.

I thought for sure that I would settle down with my high school sweetheart, help him start a business, and pop out a few kids. We’d live life as a happy family. Our kids would have kids, and then one day, their kids would too. I thought that was all she wrote.

As for my psychic abilities… nope! I didn’t recognize having any. I know today, because of my work, many children who show psychic tendencies when they are young find it hard to adjust to life or relate to peers. That wasn’t me.

I caught up to them in the end because a few years after high school, everything would change.

What or who inspired you to pursue your career? We’d love to hear the story.

The truth is, I became a professional psychic reader after I had a life-changing experience.

In 2002, I was 21. It was a dark time that followed the end of my high school relationship and my “happily ever after scenario” I mentioned before. I made a snap decision to try a substance one night, and it led me down the road of a long struggle with addiction. Despite the pain and trauma I endured during this time, I would soon have one of the most profound moments of my life… an overdose would lead to a near-death experience.

I remember it like it was yesterday. There I was in two places at once. I was in the room with my body, but also surrounded by a bright light and hearing the voice of a woman. I would start to float outside my body, and she gently guided me back. Her voice explained, “You don’t know me by name or remember who I am, but I am your mother’s grandmother. And I am here to help.”

I later realized that this was not a hallucination at all, but that I was actually psychically hearing. “What was happening to me?” I asked. “You are hearing me now in order to save your life,” she answered.

I did not die that day, but I changed and life would never be the same again. In my quest to answer, “Am I crazy?” I made a choice to get clean and sober.

I learned that I actually was very truly psychic after all. I would come to know that the voice I heard spoke the truth of my real great-grandmother. It saved my life in more ways than one. This year I will have been clean and sober for 18 years.

During my first year of sobriety, I delved deeper into understanding my abilities. I had a gift for premonitions (sensing the future) and communication with what psychics call the “other side.”

After that, I naturally became interested in card decks, psychic readings, and the supernatural. I began attending psychic fairs and events with friends. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to help people using my intuition and psychic abilities, and I knew that this was something that I wanted to pursue.

The seed was planted. I wanted to become a professional psychic reader and help others.

It has been said that our mistakes can be our greatest teachers. Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

Haha, sure!

This time I’ll have you imagine this everyday scenario for me, which would usually seem pretty weird and funny to everyone else.

Remember how I said that I had a gift for future predicting? Well, in order to figure out if I had a genuine gift, I had to tell a lot of strangers things about their future and then ask if I could call them later to see if it would come true. Like, total strangers. (Just so you know, I don’t suggest that my students take this approach today. But nonetheless, there was.)

My friends would laugh or sometimes be embarrassed, but I needed data! Back then, it was not uncommon for me to call a few strangers a week to see if they remembered me and ask if what I saw had come true.

But, here’s the thing… I got my data. Most of the time, I was right. The other times, I misread the message and could understand where I went wrong in hindsight. Then, I became a really, really great psychic. I studied my ability. I mastered it. I started using it personally and professionally. My career took off.

It’s been a whirlwind and a godsend, all simultaneously. My work is the guiding force of my life.

What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now? How do you think that might help people?

Well, after nearly two decades as a wildly successful International Psychic Reader and Psychic Development Teacher… I have finally started mentoring other psychics who want to book more clients and build highly-profitable psychic reading businesses.

Helping psychic readers “Accept the Call” and follow their dream of starting or scaling their own paid psychic reading business is one of my absolute favorite things to do in the whole world!

Connecting with the Spirit World can deeply move those open and ready for it. Their minds can open, their hearts can grow, and their purpose can be made clear.

In my career, my impact has been limited by how many people I could help and guide personally. Now, as a mentor for other psychic readers, I can create a strong, lasting ripple effect through all of the lives that my client’s work will touch.

For psychic readers and “lightworkers” to sustain their mission to serve, they must have profitable businesses. I’m helping them achieve success now more than ever through my mentorship program, “Become a Money-Making

Psychic.”

OK, thank you for all of that. Let’s now shift to the core focus of our interview. This will be intuitive to you but it will be helpful to spell this out directly. Can you help explain a few reasons why it is so important to believe in yourself? Can you share a story or give some examples?

Thank you for this subject! (It comes up all the time in my work.)

I’m going to answer the following questions from a psychic perspective.

This means that I will share my answers bringing to light my intuitive advantage, the wisdom I have channeled through more than 10,000 psychic reading sessions, and the knowledge I have due to my keen sixth sense.

As you imagine, I’ve had plenty of time to ask the Spirit World thousands of questions of my own over the years, too. I’ve definitely peeked behind the curtain, checked under the hood, and asked how the whole thing works. It makes me a better psychic, but today, it will make me a better interview.

What you may already know is that believing in ourselves is often a result of believing in some capability we have or a goal we can see ourselves achieving. When we lack the vision of either, we do not always believe.

So, here’s why it’s important to believe in yourself…

Put simply, we create our future. But let me explain this psychically.

There are a million future versions of your life. Even more! Each is an offshoot of some simple little decision you made towards one thing or the next. Even inaction is a decision.

Believing in yourself highly influences the future you will manifest.

Your belief in yourself today embodies the future version of you that’s proud of yourself. When you don’t believe in yourself, your intuition’s GPS system points you to a version of your future that does not embody any of those feelings or accomplishments. From there, it opens a floodgate to manifesting what you focus on, whether it’s a future you desire or not.

I had a client, let’s call her Mary, who wanted so badly to write that book she had burning inside of her. Even though she wanted so badly to make it a reality, she never actually believed it would ever be written. So, instead of motivating her, this caused her deep sadness for most of her late adulthood. Another year would go by, and still more heartache, even though the desire increased. She shared with me during her reading, “Deep down, I know I’ll never write it. I guess I’m ok with that.”

Then (as sometimes happens in my readings), my psychic senses responded so abruptly that it cut her off

mid-sentence. “No, that’s not right. You’re going to write a book, and it will be published next fall. I see a simple black cover with red and white lettering. It has a singular, illustrated object in the center. Is it a mirror?”

Realizing that I may have come across as rude and that I pretty much told my client straight up that her words were a lie, I was interrupted by the sounds of her happy cry. “Oh my gosh, that’s it! That’s exactly what I’d do!”

She had the vision the whole time, thinking it was not worth believing, but when I saw it, she knew it must be real.

Her vision, with my help, now turned into a belief. She knew if I could see it so clearly, I must have been right about the timeline as well. She really did change her mind. After this reading, she was 100% behind her new belief.

The book is scheduled for release this fall.

What exactly does it mean to believe in yourself? Can I believe that I can be a great artist even though I’m not very talented? Can I believe I can be a gold medal Olympic even if I’m not athletic? Can you please explain what you mean?

Again, from a psychic perspective, believing in yourself means that you are aligned and connected to the future version of you that has a reason to believe.

Many of my clients have asked, “Do we create our future because of our beliefs? Or do we believe because it’s really our future?”

Regarding the gold medal question, trust me, I’ve asked the Spirit World this one, too. The response has always been connected to another critical question… What do we think makes people deeply desire what they desire?

If a desire truly belongs to your soul, I have been shown that there is always a way. It is at least a possibility, even if it’s not a probability. (It just might also be the possibility that would make us the happiest.) It’s part of us deep down. All possible futures are.

We must choose to believe. By choosing to believe, we choose our future. We make particular possibilities our probabilities.

Was there a time when you did not believe in yourself? How did this impact your choices?

I’ve spent half of my life extremely psychic. Yet, I was young in the first half, so I don’t remember it as much. From what I do remember, I believed if I kept the faith… maybe luck might find me. Perhaps a part of me knew back then.

Ever since the day I decided not to die and was gifted my abilities, believing is easy. I see. I feel. I hear. I know. That’s why I help others. My ability to psychically witness future events rings true in my clients and allows them to align intentionally with the future. It helps them to believe.

The visions I receive are real. They come to pass. These aren’t random, unrelated desires and abilities. I see this cycle repeat over and over. It’s like stacking knowing upon knowing.

This impacts my choices significantly. I see many different possibilities and how my past decisions leading up to the present have influenced their probabilities. I know my thoughts and beliefs are choosing my destiny and taking me to each new destination.

If I’m called to something, I intuitively see how it can be done. For this reason, I bet on myself, invest in myself, start new things, and I’m very picky about what gets my time and attention. I live my life with a lot of focus and intention.

At what point did you realize that in order to get to the next level, it would be necessary to build up your belief in yourself? Can you share the story with us?

In my more recent work as a mentor for psychic readers, I was driven towards a vision of making a more significant impact through my students (as I mentioned before). However, to create the future I was being shown, I would have to shift how my business would make an income.

I was being shown coaching programs and working with readers on their business models and marketing. It meant that I had to shift away from doing personal psychic readings after almost 18 years of making a good living doing so. Not only that but because my readings would book 6–8 months in advance, I would earn no new income during that time.

I was to wrap up my bookings for the rest of the year, booking no new appointments, and then turn my attention to helping readers when I was done.

While those around me thought I could be crazy to close such a lucrative career to build something else new from the ground up, I could clearly see myself successful in it. And better yet, I saw the impact of my future work. I was able to believe it.

I knew how this worked.

My belief made it happen once again.

What are your top 5 strategies to help someone learn to believe in themselves? Please share a story or example for each.

1 . Recognize that you can use intuition to help you believe in yourself today.

Everyone is psychic! You have the ability to see yourself beyond this moment.

To gain the skill of believing in yourself, use your own intuition to sense the version of you whose life is aligned with what you want.

Acknowledge that your intuition can be the key that unlocks your belief.

2 . Swap out simply visualizing what you want for actually seeing the future version of you who already has it.

Vision boards are great, but you’re cutting images out from someone else’s magazine.

Visualization meditations are good, but you might be taken to a scene that has nothing to do with your future. Yeah, these things are pretty but not personal.

Hop on Youtube and find yourself a good “Meet my future self” kind of meditation and start there. Read books about working with your future self. Find your favorite connection techniques.

3 . “Seeing is believing,” but recognize that you can also experience your future self by hearing, feeling, or knowing.

There are many ways to be intuitive, and everyone has a different variation of how their gifts work.

You may sense the future with inner sight. Don’t make the mistake of thinking your imagination is the opposite of real. It is often the vehicle of an intuitive vision!

If you are a natural hearer, you may intuit names, sentences, or phrases as they scroll across your mind.

Feelings are typically easiest for most people to sense. You may have a gut feeling, notice the hair on your arm stand up or walk into a room and instantly sense the energy of it.

Even still, instant knowings happen more often than people realize… like knowing who’s calling when the phone rings or that your dog has to do its “outside business.”

Study intuition. Practice it. You’ll get the hang of it.

4 . Let your future self show you how they got there.

This is one of the most overlooked aspects of intuitively working with your future self.

If you’ve got them there, why not conduct a little interview of your own to get to the bottom of how this future version of yourself was manifested step by step?

For seers, ask them to show you a “movie montage” to see the critical decisions you’ll need to make between now and then.

If you hear, try a method called “automatic writing,” and journal it out. (Just don’t let your pen stop, you could be overthinking it and getting in the way of the intuitive process.)

For feelers, just jump into the energy wave! Let the feelings of your future self become yours. Step into their “vibe shoes.” Become them. Learn from the experience.

Those of you with instant knowing, take inventory of all your thoughts. Ask yourself, “What do I know right now, for sure?”

Whichever method you choose, don’t hurry the process. Take your time here. Heck! Why not try each method?

5 . Visit your future self often to strengthen the psychic bond between the present and future.

The more time you spend with someone, the more you know them.

Just like you can get inside the head of your very closest friend and anticipate their every thought and move, you can do this with your future self.

You’ll start to change. You’ll begin to believe.

Conversely, how can one stop the negative stream of self-criticism that often accompanies us as we try to grow?

Not to make it weird, but I will let you in on a little secret… All possible versions of you and your life exist.

If you find yourself knowingly or unknowingly “believing” in the version of yourself that you don’t want to become, tune into a different station like you would on a radio.

Your favorite song is always playing; you just have to lock into the channel. No need to settle for static or an unpleasant sound.

Believing in a version of yourself that is the most positive creates more probabilities of its outcome.

Are there any misconceptions about self-confidence and believing in oneself that you want to dispel?

Absolutely. I know this might seem insensitive, but from a psychic perspective (one where I can see more than the 3D world and this physical container), this life is really not all that serious.

I think I can put many of you at peace by saying we’re all here to just take our shot!

Unfortunately, many of us won’t. Not because what we desired wasn’t possible or ours to begin with… but because we don’t believe it’s possible.

Don’t make this mistake. Give yourself permission to incorporate self-confidence.

What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with imposter syndrome?

I don’t believe in some higher power holding up a magnifying glass and menacing us with flames for no reason or to our detriment. I believe the desires that burn deep inside our hearts and souls are there by a very real and loving design.

If you are concerned about your belief in yourself, the answer is that you can always get better at it. If you have the desire to improve, there are many ways to learn and grow this skill.

The ideas I have presented here are powerful, intuitive ways to start.

If you don’t feel that you have enough self-belief to even start, that might be a lie that your fear is telling you to keep you small. Your fear thinks it’s keeping you safe, but it’s costing you the shot I mentioned above. It’s no coincidence that fear is known as the natural predator of intuition. Think about it.

You decide who you are and what you can do. You choose where to put your focus. You decide what to believe. Take your shot! Make it count.

Ok, we are nearly done. You are a person of great influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good for the greatest number of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger.

I’d help the world know that time (and so many other things) can be experienced differently with access to intuition.

Our ordinary, linear sense of time is like how we enjoy a day at the amusement park. First, a rollercoaster, then snacks, followed by another ride. Our experience is determined by order of decisions we make.

However, the amusement park is already built in its entirety. Everything you can experience already exists.

Using our intuition is like stopping to look at the map or hopping on a quick helicopter ride to look down from above. After that, you’ll feel confident about getting from point A to point B because you know exactly how to do it.

By gaining a “higher” perspective, most things in life come into greater focus. We are only scratching the surface of our ability to do this.

Take advantage of the opportunity to explore the many wonders of your intuition.

We are very blessed that some of the biggest names in Business, VC funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the US, whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch with, and why? He or she might just see this, especially if we both tag them :-)

I know exactly who it would be! I learned of Colette Baron-Reid, world-renowned Intuitive Counselor, Psychic Medium, TV Personality, Author, and Radio Host, while seeing her perform an event live in San Francisco back in 2005.

She immediately captured my heart, and I had just enough cash to take home her book and her music cd. Since then, I have followed her work lovingly and always admired her strength. I noticed many parallels to our story, and I know the conversation and company would be amazing!

It would be an absolute honor to have lunch with her. (Sorry, Colette, I wake up a little late for breakfast. We can still have coffee, though, of course. What do you say?) Fingers crossed!

How can our readers further follow your work online?

Of course! Just visit my little corner on the interwebs here, www.TanaNewberry.com.

Thank you for these really excellent insights, and we greatly appreciate the time you spent with this. We wish you continued success.

Thank you to you and your readers. The pleasure was absolutely all mine!
