Your time and energy is sacred and worth a lot. When a session is over, it’s over. Just because the “energy” exchange isn’t seen or in the 3D at that moment doesn’t mean it is not of value. The words, the frequency, the energy that is exchanged has enormous value. Honor your time, it’s priceless and you are so worth it!

As a part of my series about women in wellness, I had the pleasure of interviewing Janet Namaste.

Thank you so much for joining us in this interview series! Our readers would love to “get to know you” better. Can you share your “backstory” with us?

Hello! Thank you so much for having me. I’m Janet Namaste — an intuitive healer and teacher. I was born with the gifts of clairvoyance, clairaudience, claircognizance, and clairsentience. What does that mean exactly? It means that I’m highly intuitive, psychic and sensitive to energy. I came to the realization early on in my life that I was able to hear, feel and see things beyond the five senses. It wasn’t always easy for me to understand or accept, but I had to come to terms with it as a child.

I am proud to say that I’m a first generation American. My family immigrated here from Chernivtsi, a beautiful Ukrainian city in which they lived in a Jewish ghetto. At the time, Ukraine was under Communist rule so being a first generation American has always been something that I cherish and have never taken for granted. My father always believed that education was of the upmost importance. Coming from a country where you were considered a failure if you were not in the top 1% of the class, his approach to enforcing my work ethic wasn’t always gentle and kind, but he also believed education as a way to make a life for yourself no matter where you lived in this world.

After receiving my BA in Education, I became interested in technology and began my further studies in computer programming while working as a teacher. I fell in love with web development and became a lead programmer at iVillage.com which was one of the first websites curated for women and women’s empowerment. So here I am at 22 years old and I thought I was going to be in the dot com business and have a side hustle opening a tutoring and counseling center for kids. I loved teaching children and I truly enjoyed my time at iVillage.com, but even with the free snacks, ping pong table and nap pods something was missing. I could no longer ignore these gifts and abilities the universe had given me.

So it wasn’t until my mid-20’s that my life changed and has never been the same.

I attended Dr. Weiss’s past life regression event in a huge church with hundreds of people. Out of the 200+ people that were in the audience — I was chosen to be part of a small group to be regressed by him on national TV.

Dr. Weiss put me under hypnosis. What transpired during this experience was beyond the scope of intellectual and logical comprehension. In my hypnotic trance, I saw very vividly myself and my husband now and then (James) in 19th century Versailles, France. I was very pregnant, I felt it, I saw the vivid colors of the garden, I felt the love from my husband as we were walking hand in hand and then I began sobbing and felt tormented. When Dr. Weiss asked, “Why are you crying, why are you upset?” Catching my breath, I said to him, “I want to raise this child and she’s never going to see me, she’s never going to see me, she’s never going to see me”. Dr. Weiss then gently put his hand on my shoulder and said, “move on to the next event, what do you see now?” I began to answer him and said calmly, “I’m floating, my daughter is in a bassinet she can’t see me. I just wish she would see me.

After that day, I began studying hypnotherapy, I went back to work at iVillage, got married to the love of my “lives” and then got pregnant. I experienced a miscarriage and then at age 28, got pregnant again with my first child. My daughter was born in 2004 and she was not able to see. She was born with a condition that would cause permanent blindness. I left the corporate world and knew with certainty that this child would see one day. We took her to the top specialists after no one was willing to perform surgery on her saying it was too risky. Until one Dr, an angel told me that he will do it. She was 5 months and 24 days. When she turned 5 months and 25 days — it was the moment my daughter was finally able to see me.

From that day on, I never went back to the corporate world and knew that I came here on this planet to help people see the unseen. I have been a professional intuitive for twenty years working with everyone from Fortune 500 C-Suite’s, serial entrepreneurs, world renowned healers, celebrities to single moms, teachers, doctors, and local lawyers providing them guidance and secrets of their life holographic patterns, their original birth plan, their karmic connections as well as accurately guiding them in the direction to a successful future.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your career? What were the main lessons or takeaways from that story?

Through quantum healing, an awakening where people see and feel their highest potential — I have seen unexplainable things — things that even medical professional’s can’t understand. I have seen tumors disappear. I have seen soulmates reunite from previous lifetimes. I have seen people change their lives when given the right tools and guidance.

I have seen the sleeping become awake and come out of the spiritual closet. With the ability to “see” the invisible and through a reverse engineering process I help guide people in aligning to their highest true potential, their dharma.

The biggest takeaway from these experiences is seeing people step into their true authentic power and when they are guided properly and respectively, miraculous things come out of it.

It has been said that our mistakes can be our greatest teachers. Can you share a story about a mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

The greatest gift that we can give ourselves is forgivingness and embracing our so called failures. Our perception and experience of failure is merely a stepping stone to whatever we were meant to be doing. There is no such thing as failure. Every experience adds to our soul’s growth and evolution.

A big challenge of mine was when I first began my professional career and raising a young family; I tried to “live” in 2 different worlds. For a very long time I was attempting to blend into my community in which I never felt comfortable to begin with. I felt like I was not a good enough wife, not a good enough mother. In reality I was not being my 100% authentic pure self. I was afraid to unmask that and embrace my spiritual gifts entirely and in the open. It was a fear of rejection. I was trying to balance the 2 worlds, giving a lot to others and not nurturing my own soul. At the end of the day everyone is called to do something and I want them to learn from my path and embrace their gifts. At the end of the day you cannot fight your true calling and what you were meant to do your entire life. I suffered from “healers burnout” — as a healer — I rarely asked for help or support. The biggest mistake is not to ask for help when you need it too.

Let’s jump to our main focus. When it comes to health and wellness, how is the work you are doing helping to make a bigger impact in the world?

My philosophy is if you can help one person shine their light, they can pay it forward and help another. Call it a “Spiritual Pay it Forward”. My mission is to help and guide people into their highest best version of themselves, empower them, so they can heal past karmic imprints and align with their life’s purpose. Giving them the gift of their true essence. Giving them nurturing guidance to their purpose, past life, or souls path — so they are able to express themselves in their true nature to the world, and do their part. Being lost or feeling “stuck” can weigh on us mentally and emotionally. Recognizing that we all have a different talent and a special gift here to share…so that’s my expertise, to help and guide to awaken that purpose.

Can you share your top five “lifestyle tweaks” that you believe will help support people’s journey towards better wellbeing? Please give an example or story for each.

1) Self-awareness. Take a moment and pause, be aware of how you are showing up each and every day. Each day is a an opportunity for miracles to happen. Ask yourself, who am I being? The moment when you are aligned with the awareness of your own beingness, you come to the understanding that you are not a victim of your circumstances. Life is a gift and everything is happening for you, not against you so that you can make a better choice today with the greater wisdom than you had yesterday. Every single person, every single situation is here to awaken you, to teach you, never to punish you, so self awareness without judgment is key.

2) Self-acceptance is accepting whatever the situation or the relationship is at that moment of time and coming to the awareness that your inner world created the outer world. Self acceptance is a courageous act of embodying the alchemist that you are. We all have our own unique perception of what our best life would be like and an idea of how to create it. However it doesn’t always go as planned. There are detours along the way that may steer us of our course and deter us, keep us feeling stuck into going forth of our life’s goals. You are never stuck. First step of getting “unstuck” is accepting the current situation, the relationship(s), and lifestyle for what it is and not what you would like it to be or what it was like before. The magic and a big part of the solution is always in the present moment. Honoring and accepting of what is in the here and now creates an energetic space for more light and new opportunities to show up. We learn through relationships so we can reach and embrace what unconditional love really is. Accepting someone for who they are and not our idea of what their ”potential” is or who we would like them to be is emotional maturity. Accepting ourselves for our beauty, strengths, past mistakes, wisdom, and unique gifts is pure love.

3) Forgiveness — Most of humanity is driven by their innate ambition and passion via emotions. Our greatest teachers are our X’s, cultural, work, and family circle. There is no such thing as coincidence, everything is perfectly and divinely timed and as souls having a human experience we learn through the vulnerable connections we have with each other and sometimes it can sting, it can be painful emotionally. Through these relationships experiences that we have with these souls (which for the most part are soul contracted) they can trigger unknowingly or knowingly childhood traumas that we had. For example, if you are challenged in trusting another — you will 100% manifest into your life a similar relationship(s) that mirrors what you experienced in your past where your trust was betrayed or not honored. This repetitive lesson is there for you as a gift so you can fully embody the emotion, show up and behave differently this time while you respect your feelings so you can come out the other side wiser and enlightened.

Forgiveness is a great teacher — allowing the unpleasant emotional experience to flow through you (in a safe and nurturing space) so you can digest it completely allows the bitterness and resentment to be released that perhaps was kept in your body, hindering closeness with yourself and others. Otherwise the same lessons keep on repeating over and over again…and another soul shows up wearing a different mask, replaying the same theme in your divine movie until you really embody the lesson.

Forgiveness is an invaluable gift you can ever give to yourself. If someone harmed you, forgiveness does not mean that you condone their behavior. Forgiveness allows you to release the hold and power that it had on you, and thus creates the expansion of your heart to heal and shine bright. Embracing forgiveness takes great courage and unconditional love for yourself.

4) Intention + Gratitude — As we become aware, awake, accepting, forgiving, and more loving towards ourselves, the trust that we are co-creating with Universe is fortified. And as that trust flows through you, your soul’s desires and intention echo’s in all that you do as you live in alignment with certainty. Clarity and gratitude floods every cell in your being and your presence.

Everyday begin your day with an intention statement and prayer of gratitude. For a grateful heart reaps the rewards of continual blessings and attracts tangible and loving support. Each morning, I wake up, I say my prayers of gratitude out loud, then begin my kundalini practice that I have been devoted to for the past decade, I meditate, and journal. My prayers for gratitude is not just for the tangible things I have, but for the mere moment of NOW.

Meditation is key for intention and gratitude to flow. It creates the sacred space for the Creator and your own souls messages to be heard. It magnifies the feeling of gratitude, peace, alignment, love, and bliss. As my daily meditation practice ends, I begin to journal and declare my heart based intentions out loud.

Honoring the intention setting process at the end of your practice lessens the ego’s tendency to lead your desires, soul leads and ego is honored. The intention is declared in a frequency that is based on love and not on despair. With this tabula rosa, the clear slate, we are given the opportunity to begin this very moment (a moment we will never have again) with a loving intention for yourself, your loved ones, and your adversaries. Yes your adversaries…I always send love and sincere intentions to what appears to the ones that are most resistant and are perceived as “dark” situations or people. For light, love, and truth can eradicate darkness. You can begin each day with the intention and declaration, “Today I trust and surrender that I will be lovingly guided by the Universe, I am open to be receive more love, a healthier body, mind, divine messages, kindness, and support”. “Today I trust and surrender that my friends and family be lovingly guided by the Universe, may they be open to be receive more love, a healthier body, mind, divine messages, kindness, and support.” “Today I trust and surrender that my adversaries be lovingly guided by the Universe, may they be open to receive more love, a healthier body, mind, divine messages, kindness, and support.” “And so it is. “ And then just trust and surrender as this daily practice fills your life force, your heart and mind.

5) Be consistent + follow the signs — The Universe speaks to us in metaphors, symbols, geometric patterns, numerology, through signs, and “messengers”. The more dedicated you are to your daily practice of self-awareness, acceptance, forgiveness, and heart based intentions, the messages and validation of the co-creation become clearer and clearer. You cannot miss any particular blessing from being received, even when unaware of why things are happening and the reason for their appearance in your life. The Universe does it all for you, working through you in every single breath, offering all that you need to journey from one moment to the next — no matter how you feel or perceive it to be. Your ability to trust and translate the messages or messengers flow because of your honorable dedication to your daily practice. With 100% certainty, you continue to become aware of your key role in all of this and of the miraculous precision of Universal will, at whatever speed it is meant to be seen. The consistency of your daily connection deepens your trust, you become aware of all the signs, your intuition heightens as you journey in your soul’s destined mission. The world becomes a better place as you step into your authentic purpose sharing your unique gifts and aligned vision.

If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of wellness to the most amount of people, what would that be?

Schools, corporations, and government systems need to create a mandatory practice to bring mindfulness and meditation programs and integrate it into their institutions. If every child is taught and exposed to meditation and mindfulness tools since pre-school, the world would be a much better and kinder place. It’s important to have consistent mindfulness teachings throughout the school years and higher education years. As a young adult going into the work force becoming a productive citizen of community, it is imperative that mental wellness is honored and healthy tools/programs are readily accessible and are considered the norm. There are so many distractions and “noise” that we have in this day and age than ever before. The heart of people remains the same, the common denominator of all humanity is love and desire for love but with so many technological distractions at times one can find themselves feeling anxious and unsupported without knowing that there are healthy solutions for peace and balance. And although it is an incredible blessing to have technological advancements but mindfulness and meditation should be equally acceptable and readily accessible in all institutions around the world. The world would be a peaceful place. People would be kinder, more compassionate, generous, more trusting and thus have healthier relationships with themselves and others. Bringing mindfulness education to our children would be pivotal and can start a great shift for all humanity. That would be the greatest dream of mine — to bring a mindfulness and meditation movement into every single school, to every single systemic institution around the world.

What are your “5 Things I Wish Someone Told Me Before I Started” and why?

1) Always honor your truth. When I started spiritual gatherings at my home in 2004 it was considered taboo, it wasn’t trendy or acceptable as it is today. So I was “hush hush” about it for a long time. The gatherings were discret, no one in my community even knew what reiki was at the time. My channelings and energy healing work was at times misconstrued as tarot or palm readings. Since 2004 the channelings and healing work that I became open to became to what is the destiny blueprint program is today. However at the time, I felt I needed to defend myself and the work so others would honor the sacredness and patience needed for their miracles to appear. I was hiding my true authentic self while keeping the honor of the dharmic work I love so much. I wish I had a mentor in my community at that time that would have told me to continue following the path of my heart without feeling I needed to be discreet. I wish someone told me to embrace fully my unique sacred gifts and have courage of always showing up in my truth of who I was always meant to be.

2) Divine timing. Everything is in divine timing and you are exactly where you need to be. I wish that someone told me early in my career that you never have to feel the need to attain more education and/or training in order to be credible. The divine work speaks for itself, there is nothing to prove, each person has their own unique path and is perfectly aligned with what they do. If you feel that there is an inner calling for more training, education, deeper experiences for yourself then do so at your own will. Go for it! But you are exactly where you need to be, trust in the inner calling and not what “society” desires your credentials to be. The right people will always show up and your vibe attracts your tribe. In 2018, deep in my career, when I met Rob Wergin, a kindred soul, he was a successful entrepreneur who later became a successful world renowned energy healer, he taught me this.

3) Respect and value your boundaries. Do not ever value your work in accordance to what your clients do with the information and energy that you shared with them. Everyone’s healing and soul’s evolution is all in divine timing and awareness, healing, and miracles arrives in its own accord for each individual. I wish I would have listened to my mentor, really listened when she taught me that when a session is over, it is over and that when your client needs another session, they must book a follow up as needed and honor the work. Many times, people showed up hurt, in despair, feeling broken, and worried. The desire to guide them with nurture and channel was always there — but a masterpiece, a breakthrough requires time, devotion, and work. As a healer, you must take the time to recharge your soul. So being a yes to yourself and a no to others is honoring your dharma. No is a full sentence. Respect your boundaries, your work is valuable, teach it by living by example.

4) Your time is currency. I wish someone would have told me to invest and hire a business coach as soon as I started as a spiritual energy healer for I didn’t have the experience of running a business. When I began, I treated it as a hobby and was excited to create money doing what I loved. As my spiritual business grew to 6+ figures, I needed support and didn’t realize all the time and responsibilities needed to lead a successful heart based business. Time is currency, money is energy, the amount of energy you give is currency. In order to serve and help more people you need to invest money into the right team that will help you expand and share the wealth, your services and wisdom. Value your time, invest in the right people. Invest BIG TIME in you and don’t ever fear raising your rates. Prosperity breeds prosperity. The more money you attain, the more you can aid others and mentor them, coach them, help those are aligned for your assistance.

5) Practice discernment. Be discerning in whom you share your space and divine gifts with. In the beginning of my career I wish someone would have told me I didn’t have to help everyone that asked me too. I wanted to share the light and wisdom and was helping most people that reached out to me. I never advertised, it was word of mouth so I believed that the law of attraction put souls before me that reached out so I must take them on as a potential client. That wasn’t always the case. Just because one reaches out doesn’t mean it’s an energetic fit. We all innately know this and feel it but go against our better judgment — that’s ego. What happened earlier in my career is I didn’t honor my own intuition, I knew working with certain individuals was not an energetic fit but did anyway not to reject them. There is a teacher for everyone and just because I may have a gift and perhaps the divine guidance for one, I may not be the messenger for everyone. Saying no, is an act of great humbleness and deep trust that this soul will find someone else that is a better energetic fit. I wish someone told me to be more discerning, trust wholeheartedly in my guidance and intuition and say no without any guilt. But I’m so happy that I experienced it all before for I would have never have achieved the precise distinction as I do now.

Sustainability, veganism, mental health, and environmental changes are big topics at the moment. Which one of these causes is dearest to you, and why?

Mental wellness is the most important, it’s the common denominator for everything else. You cannot run a successful company, align with an environmental movement or animal rights, veganism, etc if you are engrossed with anxiety and worry. It’s important to clear and honor the mind, body, and soul. We cannot have a quality or a positive outcome if mental wellness is running on empty.
