It’s raining outside. I’m sitting in a coffee shop in Sheffield, my English home city, looking out of the window and watching the heavy water droplets bounce off the grey stone window ledge.

The laptop in front of me beeps, breaking me from my reverie and alerting me that the person I’m scheduled to have a zoom call with is early. Then I realise that he’s not early. I miscalculated the time difference between England and the US. This isn’t a bad thing. I’ve already had two cappuccinos too many and can feel that caffeine buzz running through my veins, so getting into the interview now is probably for the best before I’m completely manic and talk even faster than I usually do.
