For gearheads, there are only a few things in life better than driving a sports car on an open road with the wind cutting across like a rocket. The feeling of getting behind the wheels of a sports car is unmatchable for the car aficionados. Nissan makes this possible with its entry-level sports car called the 370Z.

With the launch of the 2018 Nissan 370Z, Nissan is celebrating the Z’s 50 years as a sports car icon. The new Z available at the Nissan car dealers in Dallas, Texas, features a chicane yellow or magnetic black exterior color. Yellow cars feature glossy black mirrors and exterior graphics, whereas the yellow cars feature silver exterior graphics. Both have a yellow interior trim.

What’s new in the 2018 370Z?

Now in the 10th model year, Nissan latest models of the 370Z come with revised headlights, taillights, door handles, revised paint of the rear fascia and a new EXEDY clutch for manual-equipped cars.

Vehicle Overview

This entry-level sports car pumps out 332 horsepower from a 3.7-liter V6 engine, naturally aspirated V6 paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic. Just like its previous models, the 2018 370Z is available in either a coupe or Roadster at the Nissan car dealerships.

The coupe is available in 5 levels — base, performance-oriented Sport, feature-loaded Sport Tech, top-of-the-line Touring, and specialty Nismo. Whereas, the Roadsters is available in base, Touring and Touring sport trims. The standard features in the Nissan latest models of the 370Z include high intensity headlights, LED running and tail lights, power accessories and dual exhaust. The Nismo trim has some upgrades in its aerodynamics and a bit more power under the hood (350).

The higher trims consist a hard drive navigation system with a 7.0-inch touch screen, keyless ignition, aluminum trimmed pedals, rear view mirror, 240-watt, eight-speaker Bose audio system, steering wheel mounted controls, paddle shifters, Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, leather seats with ventilation and heat.

Driving Performance

The seven-speed automatic shifts perfectly, you can turn traction control off with a touch of a button, the steering is impressively responsive. The six-speed manual available in the Sport and Sport Tech trims has a rev-matching feature for perfectly timed shifts. In fact, the Nissan 370Z is one of the first cars with a rev-matching manual transmission.

The revised Exedy high performance clutch has improved the Z’s driving performance abundantly. Former Z’s clutch was hard which made it difficult to maneuver in traffic. The lighter Exedy clutch is lighter, easy to control and ensures a seamless driving experience.

Bottom Line

It is one of those few cars in the market today whose sole purpose is to give an enjoyable driving experience. There is no lane departure warning, no collision warning, no adaptive cruise control and other control features which are present in almost every car out there today. In a word of hybrids, self-driving cars and cars without any human touch, the Nissan 370Z is purely a driver’s car which delivers pure, unhindered driving experience, a kind which creates a special bond between the driver and the car.

The Nissan Z has always been an exiting car, but with the revised performance features and further improvements in its handling, the 2018 Nissan 370Z is surely going to be big hit at the car dealerships in Dallas, TX.
