The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SV has an updated 3.5-liter VQ V-6 engine, which increases its horsepower by 24 hp and torque by 19 lb-ft. This increased power gain is due to the new engine parts, intake manifold, electronic timing for the intake, direct-injection components and increased compression ratio. So finally the car shows 259 lb-ft and 284 hp. The car even has the latest CVT of Nissan that sends power to the front four wheels with the help of a wheel-drive system.

When the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4WD was taken for a test drive, the car hit 60 mph in only 7.4 seconds and covered a quarter mile at 91.8 mph in only 15.7 seconds. The older models used to stop by 116–117 feet but the Pathfinder stopped from 60 mph at 125 feet.

Apart from increasing the power of the Pathfinder, Nissan made the suspension stiffer and added rear dampers to the front, rear springs which are 25% more stiffer than the old model and revised rebound springs in the front. Nissan also increased the steering ratio by 11%. The Pathfinder has crossover underpinnings which enables it to drive smoothly on city streets.

Nissan has made many changes to the exterior of the 2017 Pathfinder such as inclusion of a new hood, Vmotion grille, revised taillights and rear and front bumpers, and the addition of new turn signal indicators to the side mirrors.

The interior of the Pathfinder is also updated such as, inclusion of a revised stack at the center, dashboard, new wood and metallic accent options, and cloth seating for S and SV trims. Technological changes include foot-activated power tailgate, 8.0 inch infotainment screen and around view camera.

Other features of the car dealers include auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic tri-zone climate control plus second row controls, rear sonar system, LED turn signals in the side mirrors, foglights, chrome grille, door handles, halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights and auto on/off headlights.
