Micro-services are the lowest level of autonomously defined function which are bundled together to build a fully functioning application. Auxledger team has studied the wide differences in protocol requirements for different businesses, and thus we are building our infrastructure in a fully configurable manner to ensure network owners meet the level of flexibility required.

With the evolution of blockchain we have noticed that many different infrastructures and platforms are made available for network owners to choose from; however, each infrastructure has enforced owners to use their pre-defined blockchain protocols and thus network owners end up choosing different infrastructure for different business requirements. With Auxledger, we want to provide the network owner’s with the possibility to choose from a wide range of different blockchain protocols available into the network, in a micro-services format.

Implementing the concept of a simple Smart contract-based network configuration file defines the required protocols of the network. Some of the configurable items while deploying a network can be:

• Network native token

• Block creation activity

• Node permissioning

• Consensus / mining methods

• Transaction methods

• Privacy and data restriction

Regarding the designing system — it has been considered that most of the blockchain protocols suiting different business needs are yet to be defined and thus it is very crucial that our design must support horizontal scalability in terms of new protocols being added. By implementing the idea of microservices, we are ensuring that as new protocols are being defined by the community, they can be easily made available in their respective buckets for an even more flexible network deployment.
