Avalanche gears up for mainnet launch after a successful incentivized testnet with rewards totaling 2 million Avalanche tokens (AVAX)

It’s been just a few months since we opened Avalanche’s Denali testnet to the world, and our community is still buzzing about the milestones and massive engagement we reached during the two-week run.

Denali was Avalanche’s final testnet and the first to offer incentivized participation for individuals who completed three challenges–with earning potential of up to 2,000 Avalanche tokens (AVAX).

By the end of the testnet, we had over 1,000 full block-producing nodes actively staking and participating in the consensus protocol. For context, this surpasses the number of full validators in many leading testnets and most networks’ mainnets.

The Denali testnet was validation of both the power of Avalanche consensus and our vision for light architecture that offers more equitable participation instead of expensive hardware (one community member even ran a node out of a shoebox–seriously).

It also showed how vibrant, engaged, and creative our community is, with the creation of assets like Baldcoin ($HAIR) and French Baguette ($FRA). We can’t wait to see what other creative innovations Avalanche mainnet will bring to the world.

For those who have completed the challenges, Denali Incentivized Testnet rewards will be distributed after mainnet launch. If you successfully completed any of the challenges for the Denali Incentivized Testnet and verified your KYC, you will receive an email today on how you will be able to receive your AVAX rewards. Thanks again to everyone who participated and followed along to make Denali a smash hit. This is just the latest in what we hope are many milestones to achieve together.
