Avaqva Contribution Guide — 1. Get Ethereum Wallet
In order to become Avaqva’s contributor you should have an Ethereum wallet. If you don’t have it, there is a diversity of wallets you can choose from, but keep in mind it should comply with ERC20 standard.
The easiest way to generate an ETH-wallet is to use “MyEtherWallet”, which is free and doesn’t require downloading the whole blockchain on your computer. Below you will find a detailed instruction on setting it up.
1. Go to MyEtherWallet and enter a strong password (we recommend minimum 15 random characters). Be sure not to forget it.
2. Click on the “Create New Wallet” button.
3. Download your wallet Keystore File clicking on the “Download Keystore File (UTC / JSON)” button. The downloaded filename should start with UTC-2018. Save the file in a several safe locations (different USB keys for example).
4. After you have downloaded the Keystore File click “I understand. Continue.” to proceed.
5. On this page you will see your Private Key, which allows to unblock your wallet in case you forget your password. It is an extremely important information so we recommend you to save it to 2–3 different safe locations. Never share your Private Key with anyone.
Besides storing your Private Key in a digital form, you can print a Paper Wallet by clicking on the “Print” button and save the printed wallet in a safe location. You can also use a hardware wallet, such as Ledger Wallet or TREZOR, to keep your Private Keys safe.
6. To proceed and finalize setting up your MyEtherWallet click on “Next: Save Your Address” button.
7. To access your wallet you need to first unlock it . There is a number of ways to do it, but one of the easiest is to choose “Keystore File (UTC / JSON),” then select your previously downloaded and stored Keystore File. Please double-check the URL & SSL cert. It should say “https://www.myetherwallet.com & MYETHERWALLET LLC [US]” in your URL bar.
8. Enter your password and click on the “Unlock” button.
9. Then you can check your wallet balance by clicking the “View Wallet Info” tab. There you’ll see your public account address (used to receive ETH or other tokens, such as AVQ), account balance, token balances and links to your transaction history. Save your public address for later, which you can share with others, so they can send you ETH or tokens.
IMPORTANT:
- ALWAYS CHECK THE URL & SSL CERT. IN YOUR URL BAR. IT SHOULD SAY “https://www.myetherwallet.com & MYETHERWALLET LLC [US]”
- NEVER SHARE YOUR KEYSTORE FILE OR PRIVATE KEY
10. Once your ETH wallet is set up, the next step is to buy some ETH and send it to your ETH wallet address. You can acquire ETH on various exchange services, such as Coinbase or Kraken, and then send them to your ETH wallet address. If you have other cryptocurrencies, you can exchange them on Shapeshift. The platform allows to quickly swap between assets — no account required.
