How Titans of Science NFTs Celebrate and Rank the World’s Greatest Scientists
Think of them like baseball cards for STEM nerds, with a healthy dose of art mixed in.
Collectible cards featuring great scientists are not a new idea. Science A-Z and Top Secret Science are examples of physical cards that feature great scientists.
But, as far as I know, no one has created a collection of scientist portraits as NFTs. Until now.
Titans OF Science NFT Collection
On Monday, 15 August 2022, AvatArt Studios will release the Titans of Science NFTs. This collection features and ranks the top 100 greatest scientists in human history.
The collection consists of 2200 unique images. The images present the 100 scientists in ten to twenty-four different art styles.
The scientists who rank in the top 15 are presented using fewer art styles. This makes their portraits rarer.
Project Goals
- First, Avatart wanted to make a statement about the scientists' relative importance and discoveries. Granted, the selection and ranking process was somewhat subjective. But the researcher put a lot of time into the selection.
- Second, AvatArt hoped to transform the portraits of the scientists creatively and artistically. Anyone could find images of scientists on the internet and turn them into NFTs. But, not everyone can transform them in creative ways that make the portraits artistic and unique.
- Third, AvatArt’s mission is to bring more art, beauty, and creativity to the NFT scene. So, they hope this collection will buck the trend of bored, mutant, and pixellated generative punks, animals, and goblins.
Community Pricing
AvatArt has decided to let the community have 100% control over the price of this collection.
To do this, they will allow anyone who registers their MetaMask Ethereum (ETH) wallet to mint the NFTs for free.
When the collection has been completely minted, buyers and sellers in the secondary market will set the prices.
This is a gamble for AvatArt Studios. It means they will receive no income from minting fees. They will only receive royalties from secondary sales if the collection is successful.

About AvatArt NFT Studios
AvatArt creates NFTs with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). This is completely different from the usual “generative” process used by almost every other project. It produces NFTs that are unusual, attractive, artistic, and distinctive.
AvatArt Studios is releasing its initial collections to the community for free. This allows the market complete freedom in determining their value.
