“A great portent appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” — Revelation 12:1 (NRSVCE)

The logo of our Ave Maria publication has 3 elements: a crown adorned with roses and twelve stars.

“And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. But her child was snatched away and taken to God and to his throne; and the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, so that there she can be nourished for one thousand two hundred sixty days.” — Revelation 12:5–6 (NRSVCE)

These passages serve as the inspiration for the different icons used in our logo. The crown and twelve stars were derived from these. But what about the rose?

In the writings of St. Louis de Montfort, “The Secret of the Rosary”, he mentions that “every time people say the Rosary devoutly they place a crown of one hundred and fifty-three red roses and sixteen white roses upon the heads of Jesus and Mary. Being heavenly flowers these roses will never fade or lose their exquisite beauty.”
