Cultural Historian Louie Nacorda romances St Raphael The Archangel on his recent feast day October 24:

As I lighted votive candles and prayed to the Archangel Raphael this morning on his feast day, I contemplated and admired the distinct favors God granted through him.

First, he was Tobias’ travel guide who protected him from bodily harm along the way;

Second, he played matchmaker between Tobias and Sarah;

Third, he freed Sarah from the demon that haunted her;

Fourth, Tobias got back the silver bullions entrusted by his father to Sarah’s father; and

Fifth, Raphael cured the blindness of Tobit.

To recap, the mighty Archangel Raphael is

1) Guide and Protector of Travellers;

2) Matchmaker for single and able persons;

3) Vanquisher of demons;

4) Advocate of Creditors

5) Healer of Blindness of Body and Soul.

Archangel of Safety, Love, Health, Protection and…
