The latest governance proposal for the Aventus Network, in which AVT token holders were invited to vote on whether to evolve the governance structure of the Aventus Network, has passed.

What Does This Mean?

As part of the Aventus Foundation’s mission to completely decentralize the Aventus Network, this evolution of the governance structure moves to introduce community proposals.

Introducing community proposals will further democratize decision making processes, allowing token holders to propose AvN upgrades and changes.

What Next?

Any AVT token holder can now put forward governance proposals for voting on the Aventus Network.

Submitting a proposal will require staking 100k AVT on the Aventus Network before submission. If the proposal is approved by vote, staked AVT shall be restricted from transfer for one year. This ensures a long term stake in the AvN, to see through the implications of the passed proposal.

The AVT staking requirement can be deposited by one or multiple accounts.

In addition, token holders now have full control and responsibility over the distribution community treasury, where an overview can be found here: 0x035a401972f228b58dcae76bf318b54ed036d680.

Voting closed on 8th May 2024, with 4,900 votes, all in approval of the proposal.

More details of the proposal can be found here.
