Aves Lair is proud to present its AvesHack NYC 2022, an in-person and virtual hackathon built in anticipation of the Aptos mainnet launch.
Aves Lair is inviting the tech community to participate in our AvesHack NYC 2022! Developers will combine forces during this hackathon to create robust Dapps, Defi projects, and Web3 apps on the Aptos ecosystem.

Our first physical and virtual hackathon in our series focused on Aptos and its Move language will take place in New York City, the company’s headquarters, in advance of the mainnet launch of the Aptos ecosystem in 2022 Q3. We will begin with a symposium & kickoff event on Sep 19–20 in NYC’s Flatiron District. This is an educational series and will set forth the start of the virtual 4-week hackathon where projects and teams of developers compete for a $100K prize pool.
AvesHack seeks to bring together top crypto operators, developers, and investors from all over the world for two full days of programming and networking ahead of the launch of Aptos’ mainnet.
AvesHack NYC 2022
This hackathon is for anybody interested in exploring the potential of the Aptos and Move programming languages, whether they already have an idea for a dApp, Defi project, or Web3 application.
The top teams will share a $100,000 prize pool for AvesHack NYC 2022, in addition to introductions to our network of VCs, investors, and sponsors to discuss potential fundraising opportunities, the possibility to fast-track into Aves Lair’s accelerator and incubation program, visibility and brand awareness through live streaming and media announcements, among others.
Top blockchain companies like Evernew Capital, LD Capital, Bixin Ventures, Sanctor Capital, Shima Capital, Foresight Ventures, BKCoin Capital, Huobi Ventures, Uphonest Capital, Pontem Network, Blocto, Koinos, Super Moon Camp, QuickNode, and DoraHacks are among AvesHack’s partners. Reputable media companies like Tech Flow, Foresight News, Cointelegraph, and Light Node Media are also involved.
Program Schedule
The event will feature a live/virtual symposium in New York City’s Flatiron District.
In-Person Symposium (September 19th-20th, Located in NYC’s Flatiron District)
- Day 1 (Sep 19th): An Introduction to The Move Code Insights and the Development of Professional Standards of Use.
○ Time: 11:00am — 9:00pm EST - Day 2 (Sep 20th): Application of The Move Code in Web3, POS, and SaaS
○ 11:00am — 9:00pm EST
** This is the introduction to the virtual competition for the $100K prize pool.
Three components will make up the AvesHack NYC 2022: an IRL/Virtual Kickoff, a Virtual Hack, and a VIP Dinner (Private time and location).
IRL/Virtual Kickoff will be broadcast online from the Flatiron District in New York City. Here, Aptos training mentors will share their knowledge of the MOVE programming language and how to master it to help the Aptos Developer Ecosystem.
The IRL event, however, will be followed immediately by the Virtual Hack. Here, hackers will virtually compete over a four-week period (September 20th — October 19th) for a $100,000 prize pool.

Additionally, Aves Lair is proud to present the Move Education Series, which is designed as sessions for developers and teams to engage and learn The Move Coding language. The Move Education Series will happen via four zoom sessions with Aptos training mentors to give their knowledge base showing how to master the Move code for fast and efficient coding to support the Aptos Developer Ecosystem for ADE.
Rules for the event
A panel of Judges which includes sponsors and industry leaders will choose the winners, and the projects must meet certain criteria to be considered for the top three prizes.
The projects must be:
● Built on Aptos’ native MOVE language
● Provide unique contribution to the Aptos Ecosystem’s long-term growth
● Innovative products that drive user retention and traction
Judging Criteria:
- Idea Viability: Does the project solve a real problem effectively with a strong degree of impact on the market?
- Ecological Contribution: Will the launch of this product significantly benefit the Aptos ecosystem and/or drive users, TVL, or traction?
- Creativity: How innovative is the project compared to existing solutions in the market?
- Technical Difficulty: Is this technology complex and comprehensive, requiring deep domain knowledge in the market?
- Design: How does this dApp perform and how well is it built?
