Aviacommerce is an open source e-commerce platform in Elixir. We at Aviabird have been working on it for last 9 months. This platform has all the core features which any basic e-commerce system should have. Developers can start exploring the project with the help from documentation website.
Vision for Aviacommerce
Simplify e-commerce ecosystem by unifying and creating smart services and providing consistent, cost-effective solution to sellers helping them sell more.
More on the overall vision can be found here.
We are releasing the E-Commerce framework as open source in a hope that the whole community can benefit from it. One of the drivers behind starting work on aviacommerce was our dissatisfaction with the existing open source platforms. Some for the lack of use of modern technology and some for the lack of vision. Having said that, the solutions out there are good enough and aviabird as a software consulting firm has used them extensively in the past to provide services to its clients.
Over time we realised many pain points while using various existing open source e-commerce solutions. we have discussed internally the possibility of working on our framework for a long time. Having worked with existing e-commerce solutions gave us the opportunity to explore them and acquire necessary domain knowledge to start working on aviacommerce.
We have open sourced our core e-commerce framework. It can be found on our Github org page.
The framework includes the following features:-
- Fully functional storefront with advanced SEO support
- Product catalogue management
- Order management with dynamically configurable order states
- Payment integration with 8 services and cash on delivery support
- Support for zones and shipping categories
We are excited to share that we have worked very closely with Ofypets while working on aviacommerce. During this time we launched ofypets.com website in production.
We’d also like to thank all the developers who have worked super hard on this project. Without their efforts this project would not be where it is today. We’d also like to thank our client Ofypets who have helped us with their valuable insights along the way.
