I am living with my girlfriend, who also happens to be one of the four co-founders. The most important thing is to take most of the conversation that you have online into Slack. Otherwise you spend hours talking about it at home and the team has no idea what you are working on.

For the first week your complete focus should be on getting better at improving your virtual communication skills. It is just a skill and if you spend time on it, you will become better. The key is deliberate practice. Set a goal, tackle it, evaluate, repeat.

- Every 30 minutes you should send at least 20 words, that’s probably comparable to an office
- Try to have virtual lunch together
- Give all channels accurate description so that new people understand which one to use for what
