Lancia Delta S4 Rallycross & MG Metro 6R4 Rallycross — Available Now

Let’s kick off with this week’s newest content, the second batch of Group B cars to arrive in DiRT Rally 2.0. The Lancia Delta S4 Rallycross and the MG Metro 6R4 Rallycross join their contemporaries from Ford and Peugeot in our roster, and as expected they’re absolute rockets. We took to the circuits ourselves with a set of Onboard videos, and even with resident rallyman Jon Armstrong behind the wheel they’re a handful. It’ll take a while to get the hang of these but once you do they’re a riot.

FIA World Rallycross Championship heads to Canada

The FIA World Rallycross Championship is in action again this weekend and they’re off to Trois-Rivières, Canada this time round. While you’ve seen Jon Armstrong doing the Onboard videos so far I decided to have a go at this one, and it was fun to throw those RX Supercars around! I cranked up the AI difficulty on this one to 100 to see how a controller player would fare and it was certainly a thrill to battle through the pack and react on the fly.

Things are poised nicely in the World RX Driver Standings right now with Kevin and Timmy Hansen neck-and-neck at the top, and Andreas Bakkerud not far behind. how will they fare on the fast and tight streets of Trois-Rivières? Follow the World RX channels all weekend to find out and catch their coverage on YouTube, and swing by our forums with your reactions.

Eifel Rallye Festival 2019

The Eifel Rallye Festival took place in Germany recently, on roads similar to those you can drive in the DiRT Rally games. All sorts of iconic cars were on display and being properly thrown about, as zeroundersteer show in their excellent video above. A huge number of cars from DiRT games past and present can be seen, so if you want high quality footage of them at high speed here you go!

Many thanks to the DiRT Discord people for finding and sharing this. Their community’s run by a few forum veterans, so hit up the link below if you ever want to hang out and talk rally.

Wales Rally: Now available in Clubs

It’s taken a while but Wales Rally is now available in Clubs in DiRT Rally 2.0! While the official Clubs were able to host events on the release day of Wales Rally, they quickly became unavailable for regular users, but the team’s been working hard on restoring that leading to where we are now.

To coincide with this we’ve got new Club Championships running right now, hit up the links below to join.

Community Events now available Online

While we’re looking at the DiRT Rally 2.0 website let’s check out another recent addition, Community Events! Regular players will know that Daily, Weekly and Monthly Challenges are a constant presence in My Team, and now they’ve been integrated with the website. Head to the link below to see what’s on, catch up on previous results and more.

Version 1.7 — Available August 8

Version 1.7 of DiRT Rally 2.0 is coming on Thursday, August 8 and with it come the usual bunch of updates and fixes based on your feedback and bug reports! I’ll share the full Patch Notes on the day but here’s a few highlights, including new free content!

DirtFish has been added to DiRT Rally 2.0 as a Test Drive location, and with it come a bunch of new liveries. To access the location select [Garage] from the My Team main menu, and then [Vehicle Options] and [Test Drive].

There’s also a new livery for the Lancia Stratos, based on the one used by Per-Inge Walfridsson in the 1970s. Hardcore rally fans will know of him as Petter Solberg’s father-in-law, and Oliver Solberg’s grandfather. It’s great to be able to have that piece of rallying history in DiRT Rally 2.0, just in time for his birthday on September 1. Look out for images of the livery and all the DirtFish content in the near future.

Content:

  • New Location: DirtFish (Test Drive only)
  • New Livery: DirtFish — SUBARU WRX STI NR4
  • New Livery: DirtFish — Opel Adam R2
  • New Livery: DirtFish — Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lites
  • New Livery: DirtFish — BMW E30 M3 Evo Rally
  • New Livery: Per-Inge Walfridsson — Lancia Stratos

Leaderboards:

  • Resolved issue where negative times were being displayed on Leaderboards.

My Team:

  • Tyre compound choice will no longer reset to Medium after every Stage.

Achievements/Trophies:

  • Made fixes to certain issues preventing “Adaptable” from unlocking.

Miscellaneous:

  • Added official support for Fanatec ClubSport Steering Wheel Formula V2 (AO) on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

As mentioned above, this isn’t all of the changes and updates that will happen on the 8th, as we’ve got some surprises in store; more about that on the day.

See you all next week!
